I have a love hate relationship with this sound bar.

Summary: Mainly because it sounds really flat when it receives a 2 channel stereo signal. I work in broadcast as a Audio / Video editor. I use studio monitors with full range audio at work then come home to hear these speakers with no mid range sound and weak bass.
Summary: This sound bar performs amazing, is easy to set up and really does produce surround sound. My only complaint is the crappy sub with 4 inch drivers. The sub doesn't produce very good lows; but if you leave in an apartment that would probably be a good thing.
Summary: This is no comparison even to my low end, 13 years old, 6.1 onkyo home theater system. You cannot hear any surround sound at all. All sound is from front. I bought it from E-bay at $520 as brand new, but it's apparently open, used and repacking item, a bunch of crooks in ebay, don't buy electronic...
good value but maybe the new Sony is more worth it

Summary: First i bought it in a refurbished state to save a couple hundred dollars. The item arrived with a defect. It would not turn on! Tried everything but it would not work. I did not yet send it back to Amazon because i did not want to wait again to receive another unit.
Summary: I did a lot of research and listening to sound bars before buying the YSP-2200 because on the whole a good sound bar will cost more than a true surround sound system so the benefit has to factor in other attributes to justify the expense.
Summary: So whenever you read a review on a product like this (or any product with compromised performance), it's always excellent "for what it is." It's a very true statement that applies here, but it doesn't really help you understand how good or bad it sounds until you hear it for yourself.
Summary: I expected more beef out of this overpriced soundbar, but the competition aint that great, so I suppose yamaha has lightened up their components. The previous version was heavy and by the weight alone, you could tell there was more cajones under the hood, this one is light as a feather, and I...
Summary: I purchased this item because I didn't want to install a full surround sound system. In the past, I ran a full surround sound system (5.1) with receiver. In comparing a "real" system with this unit, the "real" system is superior without question.
Summary: Neat easy to set up, reasonable sound, but don't believe that you will get 3D sound. After a set up using the supplied microphone, it says its ready to provide you with a "5.1" experience-nope, it doesn't do it.
