The YSP-1100 is available in black or silver. Included in the package are the infrared remote control and an optimizer microphone. The YSP-1100 also has an optional mounting bracket available from Yamaha to mount the speaker unit on the wall.
With the microphone and Yamaha’s IntelliBeam system, setup and calibration of the YSP-1100 is automated. Setting it up with a home theater is also made simple as the speaker also eliminates the wiring and placement of multiple speakers as well as the need for an Audio/Video receiver due to the wide array of audio and video ports at the back of the unit and built-in surround decoding capability.
Surround sound processing modes supported include the company’s own Cinema DSP, Dolby Digital, Pro Logic II, DTS, and Neo:6.
The speaker features Yamaha’s “My Beam” mode settings. My Beam offers five different sound settings: 5-Beam, 3-Beam, Stereo, Stereo+3-Beam and My Beam Modes. With My Beam mode selected via the remote control, the YSP-1100 will direct the sound right where the listener is.
The YSP-1100 boasts of 40 1.5 inch tweeter drivers and 2 4.25 inch woofers with each having its own digital amplifier.

As you might expect, it’s larger in every dimension than the YSP-900 model, and is designed for use with screens of up to 42in. The technology is exactly the same, as is the range of connections and even the IntelliBeam automatic set-up system. This is an excellent way to minimize clutter and wires in the entertainment rooms of your home. Users will get an interesting surround sound-style audio experience without unnecessary speakers everywhere, but keep in mind that uncluttered rooms with bare walls will work the best. Exceptional all in one unit!

I purchased this unit about 1 month ago and I have been nothing but impressed by it. To get the full effect you will need to hook up a external subwoofer. The sound is exceptional and the fact that it is a all in one unit makes it even more appealing. It would be nice to have more than 2 sets of inputs though. Comment Read more
