Summary: I was not very sure when buying since I already have a Bose system upstairs. I was looking for something downstairs and I found this system while searching on the web. I paired the Yamaha speakers with Pioneer receiver.. I was amazed by the sound quality. Good that I bought them.
Excerpt: I bought this to compliment the RX-V475 receiver that I purchased separately. At first I was skeptical due to the seemingly small speaker size, but wow was I impressed when I heard the sound quality the first time. While it doesn't have the high end sound that a much more expensive system would provide, it is perfect for watching movies and playing games in our standard size living room. I would definitely recommend this product and would buy a Yamaha system again.
Pros: Clear Sound, Easy To Set Up, Thundering Bass
Excerpt: We recently purchased this system to use with a receiver that we purchased back in 2009 (Yamaha RX-V365). For the price, this system is outstanding. The sound is clear and the subwoofer is impressive. We are using this system in our great room, and are enjoying it with games, action movies, tv, and music. We are very happy - awesome surround sound system for the price!
Summary: I used an automatic feature on my AV Recv/Amp to adjust the speakers once they were in place. To my disappointment, the sound was only marginally better than the old AIWA system I was replacing. I checked and the automatic feature had set the side and surround speakers to "small", whatever that means. The other choice I could only set manually was "large". I made that change and the difference was night and day. I was overwhelmed.
Excerpt: I needed a new surround-sound speaker system, and I preferred not to go broke buying one. This system was simplicity itself to set up, and sounds great in my front room. It's not a high-end super-fidelity speaker system, but I got much more than my money's worth. Highly recommended for this price point.
Summary: I would have given 5 stars if the specs were clearer about watts per channel rather than a general statement of "100 watts" Other than that they sound clear and loud. Bass is only up half way and it booms nicely. I recommend using the Yamaha RX-V375 5.1 Channel 3D A/V Home Theater Receiver with these speakers, they work well together.
