Summary: The only thing that I would say is the negative, is if you use it for a center channel, you need to be prepared that you're going to have to cut a stud if it's horizontal. Other than that they are amazing and sound SO good!
Summary: I shopped every in wall speaker I could find... from thousands of dollars to $50! The yamaha in wall speaker was at the low to mid level speaker price range but delivers incredible sound! Easy to install, simple directions...good purchase if its in your price range.
Summary: This center channel was tricky to install! But well worth it! I did have to modify some studs in the wall, but if you plan it right, you will only have to trim a stud or two, not cut them out and reframe any! Unless you just make it easy on youself and install it in the vertical position... I am proud to say... that i coulnt do it the easy way due to I would hate myself later! So.. after marking my studs with tape and some planning.. some cutting... and drilling...
Summary: I guess they discontinued it because you can only mount it sideways to fit it between studs. That said, I am very satisfied with the sound and performance. Buy it if you can still find one. I have heard units costing many times more that didn't sound as good. The same goes for the rest of the Yamaha in ceiling and front channel speakers in the series I purchased from another vendor.
