Summary: Keep in mind what you are buying. A $125 ceiling speaker should not be compared to a floor standing premium speaker, but this is a pretty decent effort by Yamaha. The speakers back up to the open attic (replacing existing speakers for a whole house music system) and the ceiling sheet rock and the speakers are covered with fiberglass insulation. BTW, Yamaha suggests to cover the speakers with fiberglass to improve the speaker performance.
Summary: Package arrived nicely packaged with very good instructions. The cutout template is made of cardboard instead of paper. The product looked nice, well made, and of high quality material. I'm not an audiophile but they sound very nice too me. They can get very loud too. In fact, I think they are a bit of a overkill for my 18x16 loft. I should've went with the 6.25 inch ones instead of those. All in all I'm very happy with the purchase. I would recommend them to any one.
I am still enjoying movies a lot (with my 70" tv) - the speakers are not that bad and an improvement over TV speakers

Summary: It is OK for the price. I used 4 of them to install 5.1 system in the living room, and they are OK. But I used 1 Bose speaker (front middle) and I can hear the big difference in quality. So if you going for a superb sound, I would avoid them. But now, when I have them installed, I am still enjoying movies a lot (with my 70" tv) - the speakers are not that bad and an improvement over TV speakers.
Summary: I installed four of these speakers in my medium sized kitchen. They capable of playing far louder than they need to. The sound clarity is wonderful, even at high volumes. I'm very happy with my purchase. However, you should not expect these speakers (or any speakers for that matter) to deliver adequate bass if you listen to bass heavy music by themselves - for that, you will want a sub woofer to supplement.
Summary: These speakers are amazing and really the price is unbeatable. They are super easy to set-up. I purchased 3 sets of these to distribute among my house that was originally pre-wired. The directions are super easy to follow. These speakers are not heavy so there is no sag in the drywall. The only reason I gave these 4 stars is because they do not pound like a bigger speaker would. But I knew this before purchasing them.
Summary: I am using them as rear surround speakers with my Yamaha RX-V673 7.2-Channel Network AV Receiver. Sound issue what so ever. Installation was easy, just make sure you cut the hole to the right size the first time, they are not easy (not too hard) to get out of the ceiling once installed.
