Summary: These speakers are by far the worst sounding speakers I ever owned. I bought these at BB 10 years ago and they were on special for $49.99. I thought with Yamaha how could I go wrong? That was a mistake. The highs were unnatural, mid range sounded tinny, and the bass output was hollow sounding. I opened these up to look at the crossovers and construction of the cabinets. Well there are no crossovers, only one capacitor on the tweeter and midrange.
Summary: Beautiful looking speakers but comes with many audible problems like: fake bass sound, too much treble and lacks mid range sound! They're good looking but disappointing in sound performance. I like to listen to smooth jazz, but not on these speakers, I feel like smashing them with a sledge hammer! And if you ever think of playing latin or reggae music on these speakers, guess what? They will sound like it's coming out of a toilet!!!
Summary: I have had these speakers for a long while. When I one day realy turned my stereo up the tuner clicked to protected mode. I reset it it done it again and again. I put a ohm meter to them to check the speakers and each one was at 5 ohm! Not what they rated them on the speakers 8 ohm. If you have a hi-fi stereo that needs 8 ohm speakers dont do these they will burn up the radio or amp I even contacted Yamaha to see if they was a recall.
