Summary: Speaker reviews are necessarily subjective. That said, I run these from a powered Hsu Labs subwoofer, and they work marginally as the satellites. With their 6-ohm impedance and 86 db sensitivity, the subwoofer tends to overwhelm them.
Sound excellent for this price (be sure to set your amp for 6 ohms)

Summary: It's difficult to imagine that a speaker at this price point can sound good, but here's is proof that it's possible. One technical note, which I ignored initially. Speakers are rated at 6 ohms. After the hookup my receiver kept on short circuiting.
Summary: Ordered these last week and received quickly from one of amazon's suppliers. Sound is quite good for the size of the speakers. Hooked up to very good quality audio equipment, and the speakers are on Sanus stands. Solid construction and attention to detail.
Summary: I bought a pair of the 'original' Wharfedale Diamonds 20 years ago - and those served me very well, so it was not a difficult choice to up-date them to the new Mk 10.1 version, during an up-grade to my Hi-Fi equipment.
The Wharfedale is crowned new king of the budget market
1 September 2009
Excerpt: The Wharfedale's have consistently made good speakers but for a while now in my eyes, it has failed to make outstanding speakers. Well of that changes with it's latest incarnation the 10.1's which have only landed in the shops in the last couple of weeks.
Pros: Impressive bass extension, depth and spaciousness
Cons: Perhaps it is not as lively as some speakers
