Summary: silky sounds from small speaker. bass response good, but not a thumping bass. if you prefer something with a huge bass response and need to have volume at ear splitting levels, then you should look elsewhere. but if you appreciate great imaging and accurate reproduction these are the ones to get.
Summary: My amp drives two pairs of speakers, so I could compare these against a more expensive and much larger, but older, pair of floor-standing Yamahas (NS-45E). By choosing the right music, and concentrating, I can find a difference, but it's very small. These are ideal for extending my hi-fi to cover my computer desk, where I play classical and MOR music at moderate to low volumes.
Summary: I wanted to buy some beefier speakers to replace the front left and right speakers in my 5.1 system and so I took a punt on buying these, assuming they would be better than what I originally had. I am so pleased I did as they they are a great pair of speakers and have greatly improved my 5.1 system. I have an 11 year old ELAC Cinema 1 5.1 speaker system, and although this system still sounded pretty good when watching films, music was always lacking in bass.
Summary: At £100, these stylish bookshelves speakers are a steal. They offer a fantastic level of sound detail while punching quite a lot power despite their small size. Absolutely ideal for an office or a small room.
Summary: I got these speakers to actually use in my computer desk, as I've found (cheap and more expensive) computer speakers to be lacking for any serious listening. My expectations: 1) Real hi-fi sound. 2) Small speakers, to sit on a desk without any problems. 3) Good bass extension. 4) Good quality 5) Cheap I must say they fill the requirements without problems!
