Good Value for the Money

Summary: Was forced to upgrade a perfectly fine 2.0 stereo receiver to match up with some new A/V equipment and the new receiver was 5.0, so, I was looking for an relatively inexpensive center and rear channel set to see what the surround sound buzz was about and found this set. I have been pleased with what this set adds to the sound, They are compact, not intrusive, and meshed well with my existing floor sized main channel speakers, which are each large enough to fit more that...
Summary: I've always loved Sony speakers and this is no exception. You get what you ask for. Good quality speakers that provide great sound. I have an older Pioneer receiver that I tested this unit out on. Using the 3 channel Logic setting actually revealed that the center speaker in this set-up is the real stand-out. It provided a wider range of sound that I expected, and had quite a bit of clarity to boot. The rear speakers I didn't have any great way to test.
Excerpt: I expected more (because of the reviews I read here and other retail websites), but tempered that expectation with the reality this is a center and two surround speakers for around a hundred bucks. I had a Sony center and two surrounds from an economy set-up I bought 6-7 years ago for two hundred bucks and never really liked the way the center sounded like it was being sucked back through the wall behind them into a tin can. What do you expect for that price point.
Summary: Just about all of my speakers, the ones in this set, and my front speakers, are made by Sony. I use the Sony STRDH520 7.1 Channel 3D AV Receiver (Black) version of their audio receiver line and I have no complaints with the sound I receive. I set my rear speakers to 6.5 for the volume, and everything else just falls into place. Not only that, I loved the price that they cost at the time I bought them. Great deal all things considered.
Summary: I've always received compliments from friends and family on the surround sound setup on our home theater set-up. I had a rather large speaker wired to the center channel but during action movies I always had the remote in hand to increase the volume during dialoge and reduce it during action scenes. No longer necessary with this simple little system for a very modest price.
Summary: The speakers are small but sound good. I paired them with some Sony ssb1000's a Sony 10" subwoofer and its all hooked up to a new Sony receiver. There are three things I don't like. #1 is you can't remove the grilles #2 is that even though Sony states there is a 1" nano flex tweeter in the center speaker there is not. My ssb1000's each have one.
Summary: Perfect solution for surround. I have a high end receiver w a seperate sub and front speakers. Listened to it w this set up for years. Decided to expand my experience w these little gems. Fished upgraded Monster wire through walls and under floor to accommodate speaker positions. Excellent solution. Sound great, look great, great price. Would reccomend after owning for a month.
