Summary: Even though this is an older subwoofer, it is a BEAST. It is in my dad's home theater and is great for movies, but in my opinion, shines the most in music. honestly, listening to music on this sounds like you're in a car with a good aftermarket amp and sub installed. I did the polyfill mod a few years ago and it did help. I like this sub so much that i wanted one for my room, but figured it'd be a bit much, and also they are going for more money than I'd like to spend.
Summary: I have been a home theater enthusiast for over 20 years. When I got "semi-serious" about HT, I had 4 kids so I was definitely under budget constraints. I bought a Sony receiver, 4 Sony speakers and the Sony SA-WM40. As years went on, I began replacing equipment a little at a time, TV's got upgraded, two A/V receiver upgrades (Most current - Pioneer SK-1222-K 1200w), surround speakers got improved to Polk Audio.
Summary: Believe me, you will NOT be disappointed if you buy this amp!(I bought another one after hearing what one can do!) Puts out nice and clean bass....you get some very nice low rumbling. The bass is clean, not muggy. No distortion on high volumes. It responds well. When no signal is sent to it, it shuts off automatically like it should--comes on when it should. Plan and simple---it does its job very well! Nice looking black cabinet does not overpower the room.
Summary: I recently got this product little doubtful of how good it was. I am awstruck that it can deliver so much bass. i love it i would recomend to all who need to add the .1 in their audio, you wont be disapointed
Summary: All I can say is "WOW". It's a great speaker at a great price. In particular, the frequency response is outstanding. The continuously variable crossover is nice and it has plenty of power--I usually only have it up 1/4 of the way or less and my windows still rattle! The sound is deep and very rich. If I ever have need of another sub, I'd get another one of these for sure. You will not be upset with this speaker (unless you hate the color black in your movie room).
Summary: After doing alot of research and reading numerous reviews, I chose the SAWM40 as the subwoofer to round out my home theater speaker system. As noted by other reviewers, this sub is big (14-1/4"W x 16-7/8"H x 16-1/2"D) so you may want to contemplate where in the room you'll place it so that it isn't a visual focal point. (I placed mine behind one of my floor standing speakers so that it's not visible from the front viewing angles).
Summary: I just got this sub from best buy. I wasn't planning on getting a sub but I had a gift card and I wanted to buy something. I got this sub on sale (Don't get this sub here because you can get it A LOT cheaper at an electronics store i.e. best buy). This sub is awsome. It's a little big because it's a 12" sub but its worth it. I didn't get it that long ago but sony has done good with this sub. When u first hook this up dont be disapointed if its not all that great.
