    Sony's latest Invisible Theatre package, the HTIS100, is a very unobtrusive system. Its main allure is its incredibly tiny speakers. Only as large as golf balls and finished in matte black paint, the speakers can be placed almost anywhere within a large room and not stand out. The system's control unit — which also functions as the subwoofer — is quite tall but doesn't take up much floor space, so slotting it into a cavity may be possible. Read more

    I have a difficult time understanding how anyone could rate this system anything but 4 or 5 stars. Seriously, if they did they must have gotten a lemon. I received this system a couple of weeks ago and waited to set it up till we moved into our new home which we did this morning. My entertainment center was delivered and assembled today so I got it all put together a few hours ago. I have a Mitsubishi WD-60C8 60" DLP. The setup was a piece of cake. Read more

    Beautiful surround sound delivers awesome power. Small and modern looking. The setup is easy and has enough outputs and inputs to accomplish anything. It even has an iPod cradle. For the [$] price this thing is a steal!! The ONLY downside is that you have to purchase EZW-T100 and WAHT-SA10 for it to be wireless capable (which is for the 2 rear speakers only). But because the MRSP was [$] and so cheap, I can't complain about purchasing the 2 accessories. Read more

    The HT-IS100 is the perfect system for people who are not total audiophiles and are looking for a system that works well while does not take up your whole room. I am not a audiophile but I do appreciate nice sound quality and this system does not dissapoint. I use the micro theatre system in my bedroom that is 10x10 and the system easily makes me feel like I am at the theatre. Read more

    Functionality and connectivity of this unit is very good. By putting a midrange speaker into the main unit and leaving the satellites to handle high range only (and thus be incredibly small), many sounds are perceived to (partially) come from the main unit. This plays havoc with perception of sound direction, particularly with the rear speakers where there is no mid range evident from their direction. Read more

    I have visited My friend's house a couple of times and the only question I had to ask is "Are we going to be watching any movies" - he is an owner of this subwoofer set and the sound will impress even a deaf man. The bass was so clear and hard the juice in my glass got a form of radio waves. SRS ( Surround System ) function created a realistic aquatics effect and with a Dolby surround mode on - even your neighbor will come with pop corn . Read more

Sony HT-IS100

The Sony HT-IS100 is a Bravia home theater micro system featuring 5.1 channel surround sound, ultra compact satellite speakers and HDMI connectivity. The speaker system outputs a total of 450 watts (RMS) of power.

The HT-IS100’s AV receiver/subwoofer measures 9.4 x 17.1 x 17.4 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 32 pounds. The compact satellite speakers are about the size of golf balls measuring in at 1.8 x 1.6 x 2.2 inches and weighing 2.5 ounces each.

The system features HDMI connectivity allowing the transmission of High Definition video as well as surround sound audio using a single cable. Other notable features of the Sony HT-IS100 include Bravia Sync, S-AIR, Digital Cinema Auto Calibration and Portable Audio Enhancer technologies.

Bravia Sync gives the user “One Touch Play” control over other Bravia Sync-compatible devices. The HT-IS100 is S-AIR ready and can be used to send sound to up to 4 rooms with the EZW-T100 transmitter and AIR-SA10 Air Station receiver/speaker (sold separately). And with the optional WAHT-SA1 and/or WAHT-SA10, a wireless surround sound speaker setup can be created. With an auto calibration feature, the speakers can be automatically calibrated to optimize speaker placement. Portable Audio Enhancer technology improves the sound quality of a connected device.

The HT-IS100 uses a 32-bit S-Master digital amplifier and features Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II and DTS decoding. The S-Master digital amplifier uses a digital-to-digital process to ensure quality audio reproduction.

The system also features Sony’s Digital Media Port (DMP). DMP-compatible accessories are available for purchase separately and include wireless adapters that allow the user to stream music from a PC or other devices, a cradle for use with Sony’s Network Walkman portable media player, and many others.

The standard package ships with a TDM-iP1 iPod cradle, universal remote control, IR receiver, FM antenna, Auto calibration microphone, AM antenna and speaker cables.
