Summary: I ultimately selected the HT-CT370 speakers based on reviews and price. I wanted something compact for my apartment, but also wanted quality sound. For the price, these speakers are decent, and I would say they are worth the money. I really liked the HDMI feature that automatically switches the speaker input to match the device that tv input has been switched to. The feature saves you the time of finding the remote and manually switching the sound input.
Summary: Got this from the big box store for $350. No surprise, this is not going to knock the neighbors out of bed. Gotta call B.S. to the 300 watt rating. I have a vintage Pioneer A/V receiver & just wanted some extra kick for a Sharp LCD TV with really wimpy sound without having to fire up the old amp just to watch the news. By the time the Pioneer hits 10 watts per channel this Sony is way outclassed. But for listening to the Six O'Clock news in the next room it works well.
Summary: I didn't love the sound. It was a bit tinny, and the subwoofer (even at full sub volume) didn't add a whole lot of oomph. Then when I went to return it, I discovered it is NOT returnable to Amazon because of some obscure policy surrounding shipping things with hazardous materials (which in this case involved the speaker magnets). That said, Amazon's customer service team was totally top notch and worked with me on a solution.
Summary: I couldn't wait to get my set but unfortunately annoying buzz comes out all the time especially whilst quiet or silent. So disappointed:(( EDITED: after a weekend of use I think sound is not bad, netflix is even more enjoyable now!
