Excerpt: I have had the previous version of these speakers for years. Love them. I don't like bass reflex, very muddy, boomy. I plugged the bass ports with the tops of a spray paint can, fit perfectly to make a sealed box. Turn up the bass to compensate to your liking and please add a subwoofer for the lows. Can't ask for more for the price. Mine are five years old and sound great.
Excerpt: Very solid speakers and they hold their own by themselves, but I have a full surround set up. You can't go wrong with these bad boys. Good bass with clear high's and low's. The style is very basic but this plays to the speakers advantage. The speakers I replaced where very sleek but lacking real range. The F7000's are built to play music, plain and simple.
Summary: I have been looking to purchase new speakers since Christmas of 2009 because I received a Pioneer Stereo System. I have been using my old Sony Bookshelf Speakers until now, I have looked into many different makers of speakers and have done my research. I was reluctant to purchase these speakers because I have had a few problems with Sony products in the past.

Summary: Just had to say in writing my thoughts on these Floor Standing Speakers! The speakers are about 42" from base to top. They are 4-way,that is 2 woofers, a mid-range,and a tweeter. And they perform very well. I am a classical devotee, and these speakers work well with that genre of music. As for other listening types I can't speak of but classical takes you to the highs and the lows.
Summary: i recently purchased these speakers after much deliberation and review reading online and i gotta say i am not disappointed in the least. i have no complaints and all apprehension was cast away the first time i turned them on. these things sound great! the highs are clear, the bass is readily available, they look cool, and they're a steal! my only complaint is that I'm in an apt and cant play them as loud as i want and trust me, if you buy them-you'll want to.
Summary: I already owned the ss-f5000 and ss-cn5000for fronts and center and although I was overall happy I wanted to complete my 5.1 with sony speakers. After buying theseand moving the ss5000s to the rear my whole family commented on the diference in volume clarity and detail. We listened to music watched some movies and could see a huge diferrence especially at lower volumes. For the same results the ss-f5000's I had to crank the volume real loud.
