Excellent speakers for the price

Summary: I purchase those speakers recently to replace some aging bookshelves speakers. Let me tell first that I am blown away by the quality of these speakers. I bought these set mainly because of its positive reviews but I was a little worried about their low price compared to similar items. I must say I was not deceived a bit. The speakers came promptly, well package and without any damage. The outside appearance is simple and neutral.
Summary: I bought these and was floored by the sound. These are awesome! They were in my room (12x12). The highs and mids were outstanding and the bass pounded. I had to turn the bass down on my receiver. Now they are in the living room (18x22) and they fill the room quite beautifully. Good job Sony!
Summary: The first thing you will notice when you get these is the size (Height) these are defiantly "towers" in every regard. I have owned many speakers throughout the years, but not many had the full range clarity these do, they seem to 'come alive' on just about anything video games, Movies, Music, ect.. and they can get LOUD if you wire them correctly.
Summary: The previous model of this speaker was given top ratings in consumer reports. After reading others reviews I decided to purchase with hopes that it would live up to the ratings of the previous version. My expectations have been met. Not only are these speakers less expensive that comparible brands, but they sound great.
Proof that you need not spend a fortune for excellent speakers!

Summary: I'm no expert, but I know what I hear. These speakers are clear and accurate. I can hear all the different musical instruments in the orchestra with so much clarity and accuracy now than I used to with my old BOSE speakers. Violins, flute, horns, harp, guitars, cello, xylophone, chimes, drums, clarinet... they all sound like they are supposed to, not colored and muddied up in one blend of painful, indistinguishable orchestral noise.
Summary: I have had these speakers along with the SS-CN5000 center channel and the SA-W3000 sub woofer for about 2 weeks now. They sound great. I have them hooked up to an Onkyo TX-SR606. I also bought two SS-B1000 bookshelf speakers to use as my 5.1 surrounds but do not have them hooked up yet. I do not understand how people bash Sony speakers simply because of the name without ever hearing them.
Summary: Sony speakers are almost always condemned by audio salesman. Don't believe them. I matched up these Sony 7000 towers with the Pioneer Elite Integrated Amp and the sound is simply spectacular. Voices sound like they are in your room. Close your eyes and you will swear the violin is only a few yards away. The clarity is simply amazing. I spent months scanning audio websites before choosing the Sony and I made the right decision. My excellent results are for stereo only.
Summary: These floor speakers sound great! I can't say they are the best out there, but for the price, you can't go wrong! I upgraded to Sony SSF-7000's from a pair of Polk R300's (Polk's cheapest set of floor speakers) and the difference is amazing! The Polk's sounded pretty darn good, but it only had a mid and a tweeter, so it didn't produce a strong full sound. These Sony's however, give off a much fuller sound, even at extreme high volumes.
Summary: i'm a sony fan but i have to admit i was a bit worried. i sampled the ssf-5000 pair at best buy and compaired to polks and klipsh speakers with the same number of same size drivers the sony seemed a bit, 'lacking', despite the lower price they were unacceptible imo. but while i was there i realised that i'm in an open area with a reciever that's probably calibrated for the more expensive set, not using the subwoofer which i would have in my home setup, while at the same...
Summary: I bought these because a consumer magazine rated the performance of this model's predecessor a "best buy" in floor standing speakers. They even beat out some very expensive Polks for sonic accuracy. After getting them installed, they didn't disappoint. Excellent highs and more than adequate bass especially considering the price paid.
