Great Speakers, Better Price!

Summary: These speakers are the best! I did a lot of research when buying them and for the price nothing can compare. Ive used them with the covers on and off and with them off they are amazing. I have them paired with a 12" sub as well and people consistently tell me its one of the best speaker systems they've heard. I also use an optical audio cord to my receiver and the sound that comes out is near perfect. Overall I am very happy with my purchase of these speakers.
Summary: Love the sound "color", extremely crisp and responsive mid-to-high range, alternative rock / hipster / electronica / ambient all sound amazing. Paired them with a Sony amp STRDH130 and they work together great, though I would say the speakers are a bit "revealing" of the 2-channel EQ of the amp. I find myself tweaking them between songs to get that crazy etherial feeling that makes modern music great.
Excerpt: I am by no means an "expert" or "audiophile," but for a casual listener, I believe that these speakers are an excellent buy. Maybe, with a chance to compare these with others in the same price range side-by-side I might have a different conclusion, but in my area the local audio stores have only premium ($1K & up) speakers in their listening rooms.
Pros: Easy to Mount, Easy To Set Up, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality

Summary: I have replaced my twenty some year old speakers with these taller and more narrow Sony SSF-5000 and after three days felt compelled to share what I think about them. I read as many reviews that I could and decided to take the plunge. I am so glad that I did. All this talk about no bass could not be further from the truth! My old speakers had a 10 inch woofer and these have blown that away. They will shake the walls if you crank it up I am sure.
Summary: Good Speaker for the price I paid ($99.00) in 2009. A lot of the great reviews came at that time. However, make no mistake these are not worth the current $200.00 price tag. I bought the Sony 7000 models for that price in 2010. These are same speakers as they were 5 years ago. Nothing has changed. I have since upgraded to Polks which surprised me at how much better they were than these Sonys.
Excerpt: My sound system was older and I worried that newer speakers would not be compatible. Prior to water damage, my old Sony tower speakers had great sound. The Sony SS-F5000 speaker system exceeds my expectations. The quality of sound is actually better than the original speaker system. They look great and I have had several friends comment on well they fit in with my decor.
Summary: These have a good range from high to the upper low end (bass). I find most speaker fall off at lower volumes, such as below normal speaking level. These do not seem to lose much at the high and mid range and the base is decent at lower volume. For the price and sound, these are a good value. If you are into loud, these only get better.
