Summary: I've got three pairs of these and love the sound. I like a lot of base and these little units really pump it out! Let's face it, if you are looking for reference quality sound you will need to spend a whole lot more money than these cost!
Summary: HI you wanted me to review the sony speakers i purched i work with electronices and got them for testing receivers and other stuff and all i had where heavy speakers that was a pain in the but to move heavy speakers every time i wanted to test something so i got the sony speakers just for testing there easy to move and they handle the right amount of power to test with and they put out a great sound for there sise they would be perfect for a bedroom
Summary: I bought these for $10 at a yard sale in perfect condition. I mostly bought them to experiment with and if needed gut them and use the cabinets. They need to be gutted. I measured them and they have reasonably flat response. But the midrange lacks any depth and clarity. Only a complete idiot would pair Kevlar and Polyproplene. I am a recording engineer and hobbyist speaker builder. Poly has to brightened up with Mica not damped with Kevlar.
Summary: These speaker provide a rich full sound in a small package. They provide 120 watts each of wonderful sound that makes them perfect for just about any application. My wife loves the fact that they are heard and not seen.
Summary: These are great little speakers. They have a small footprint and have a great balanced sound. They work great as stand alone speakers. I'm not sure I would pick them for a surround sound environment, but if you need stand-alone speakers with a small footprint, these are great.
Summary: I think these are great speakers for the price. I ended up buying them for about $25 each, I've had them for about 3 years now and I don't regret it one bit. I didn't have room in my bedroom for a full 5 piece speaker system, so I just when with these, which fit perfectly in our armoire. They provided enough base and treble to make movies and regular TV sound great.
Summary: At close range, the speakers sound very clean and the timbre changes little with listening angle. As distance increases, the sound level of the tweeter drops much faster than the woofer's. The sound is very muddy past about 8 feet. They're excellent on an office desk or in a small room. They can be used as surround sound speakers as long as they're within a few feet of the listeners. Don't put them in a large room, even as fill speakers.
Summary: I'm using these as the surround speakers (with larger Sony speakers in the front) and couldn't be more pleased. Sound is crisp and clean, and bass response is surprisingly good. My only quibble: no provisions for mounting (mine are on the wall, and I had to drill and pray). I have a pair of slightly larger Polk bookshelf speakers in my office, and these Sonys are almost as good for half the price.
