Summary: Very easy setup, ok sound, they breed like rabbits. In spite of the great reviews for this speaker, it is NOT as good as a play 3. However if two are paired the stereo effect is better than a single play 3. I own four play 1's, 4 play 3's a playbar and the sub. I don't own a play 5 because it still runs on the slower network speed. Therefore it can not be used with the playbar for surround sound. Sonos is a great product but it has it's limitations.
Now That Is A Lot Of Sound Coming From Such A Small Package - Easy Music Is Back In My Life

Summary: I have been a Sonos user for over four years now but this is the first time I purchased some of their speakers. I had the connect unit going into either stand alone Bose unit in living room that then ran into a whole house hard wired Russound system that cost way too much, or yamaha and polk audio towers. The speakers in that system for each room with a controller ran more for each room than getting a play 1 or 2.
Excerpt: This is my first Play 1, but I've got 2 Play 3s. This works as promised - easy to program and sound is good. I definitely like the bass of the Play 3 better, though, which is why I give it 4 stars. But this is much better than the size alone would dictate. Overall, I like my Sonos system very much. I use it with my built in wall speakers on my pioneer receiver, too - very nice.
Pros: Different Music, Different Rooms, Easy to Set Up, Wireless
Very happy with the hardware; they need to add native Google Music support

Summary: This is a beautiful and beautiful-sounding piece of stereo equipment. Impressive sound from a small device, which looks and feels as premium as the price would lead you to expect. Super easy to set up and use. Looking to add to the current setup (just two PLAY:1 units at the moment) when the budget permits. It's really unfortunate that Sonos doesn't natively support Google Music, though.
Summary: Wanted a stand-alone speaker to play music from my iPhone and this does that and more. Highly recommend it for those that aren't looking for true portability. First the pros. As everyone says, tremendous sound. Easy to setup and control. Plus, not only plays what's on my iPhone, but can play my entire library stored on the desktop computer - wow.
Summary: The Play 1s are small with good sound, I use them as satelites with a sound bar and Sub. Not sure how they would sound as stand along speakers. They can be placed out of the way to be "heard but not seen". I have them set up as surround I have not figured out a quick way to switch back and forth when alternating TV and music.
Pros: Very small and discreet. Work well as surround sound satelites.
