nice compact unit but sound leaves something to be desired

Summary: It's Sonos and if you are familiar with the system then you already know it is easy to set up and control. That's the main benefit of investing in this system as pricey as their stuff is. It's well built, looks good, and basically does what you'd expect it to do. My 3 star rating is based entirely on the sound quality. I'm not an audiophile by any means. I generally don't need pristine sound reproduction. But this unit has a very muddy sound.
Summary: I was wanting a spotify multiroom system and thought a set of play 1's would be ideal. I imagined listening to spotify on my phone then being able to switch and play it through the speakers wirelessly. This was the goal. Sadly that isn't quite possible. The sonos system doesn't work with the spotify app because sonos for some reason don't want to update their software to allow the spotify connect feature.
Summary: sonos play 1 Speaker, excellent piece of kit. Has real deep rich sound with excellent base . This item is a quality item just oozing class at every angle. The only fault I have with this item is that it is internet dependant. The thing with it being internet dependant is that if the software controller to use this highly classy piece of kit faulters you can not use this item.
Summary: I love the quality, sound and price of this speaker. It was extremely easy to set up too. I bought this speaker to explore what it would be like to use as I wanted to kit my home out with a multi-room speaker system. I am glad I only purchased this one and not a more expensive speaker as there were a few issues which began to arise using the Sonos System. The app is the issue.
I would have given this 5 stars as the sound quality is outstanding.

Summary: I would have given this 5 stars as the sound quality is outstanding. However, I had difficulties with the setup and the "Controller Application" including intermittent playback and synchronisation problems with my iTunes library. I contacted Sonos support directly and found them to be of limited help, in fact almost no help at all. Oh and before anyone asks, I work in the technology industry so understand Wi-Fi etc.
Summary: Bought a pair of Play 1's two weeks ago. But the stereo imaging is poor. i.e. non-existant. But this setup does play loud, with the emphasis being on too much bass. Treble is reasonably normal . But the most important mid-range frequencies is rather poor and inadequate.i.e. the sound is not warm and full bodied, leading to vocals being thin and brittle.
Summary: Like others on here, I like the system and the sound. I now have 2 Sonos 1's paired in my living room and a Sonos 5 in my kitchen. However I love to listen to some BBC radio shows on iPlayer such as Craig Charles and comedy too during the week and the only way to do this on the Sonos system is via TuneIn radio which has a very flaky Recent Episodes option against certain radio shows.
Neat to look at, easily installed but lacks power in large room

Summary: I purchased two of the Sonos Play 1 speakers to install as a stereo pair in a large kitchen/breakfast room (6m * 6m). The speakers look stylish and are very easy to install and pair up as a stereo unit but the sound gets a bit lost in a large room (sounded a bit tinny).
Summary: Sonos products are nice but they do not integrate well with Spotify. The user must connect using the underwhelming Sonos app and then discovers that the Spotify Radio, Discover and Browse functions are not available on Sonos. I was very disappointed after reading Sonos claims about Spotify integration. Buyer beware!
