Excerpt: I own a Samsung 52" older LCD TV. The sound never was that great. I recentry purchased an apple TV and had problems with the sound on the streaming. The HW-F355 2.1 Channel Sound Bar System improved the sound greatly.
Realistically 3.5 Star Rating. Good Sound, Low Foot Print For Small Living Room

Summary: I knew what I shouldn't have been expecting when I purchased this. Deep rich surround sound and amazing bass. With that in mind what I got in reality was slightly better than TV speaker quality. I feel the reviews here led me to be underwhelmed with this sound. First of all. Why in the hell do they provide you with every cable you might need, except for Digital Optical Audio, if ideally that's the best fidelity connection you should use to get signal from TV to speakers...
Summary: I installed the soundbar in the bedroom and it works great with my Samsung 42” TV. I connected over optical and the unit automatically turns itself on when it senses that the TV is on. The soundbar remote replaces the need for the Samsung TV remote too. The small display can be dimmed making it less distracting, ideal for watching TV at night. The sound quality is impressive, I like the fact that it has the Smart Volume functionality.
The TV IR repeater worked fantastic with the uverse box

Summary: I got this as part of an install job for a family member that wanted simplicity. This was chosen specifically because it was the same brand as the new Samsung TV it was going to and spend hours trying to get the tv to talk to it. The TV IR repeater worked fantastic with the uverse box, an ancient vcr player from the 90s but refused to talk to this sound bar.
Soundbar is great, Subwoofer leaves room to be desired.

Summary: Set up was easy and straight forward, I just wish the subwoofer cord was longer so I could put the subwoofer behind me. So I've placed it next to the TV but the only thing I don't like is that the bass is pumping out behind the TV. I thought if the opening was facing me that it'd be pumped towards me. I may mess around with the placement some more and try turning it around, even though it won't look good, to see if the bass improves.
Excerpt: First off, it sounds great. That's what speakers are supposed to do. We're off to a good start. But audio usually comes from some sort of electronic, probably a TV, so you would think it would be designed to work pretty flawless with a TV. At least a TV designed by the same company during the same production year, right? Wrong... I bought this to connect with my new Samsung TV Digital Optical Audio Out.
