Summary: Fell apart while trying to install. I have installed 6 sets of other Pyle product without issue (PDIC81RD). This full enclosure version is also 8 inche speaker but be warned it requires a smaller hole and the connection bridge it extremely fragile. I wasted my money.
Summary: This speaker is in my den. I had one, and just ordered another, because it was so good. The sound is perfect for a large room, dispersing perfectly. The beveled edge makes the speaker look as if it was built with the house! If you want to do it right, get in ceiling speakers. If you want to do it for the right price with quality, do it with these.
Summary: It is a nice speaker especially for the price point. It was perfect for what I needed at the time, replacing the driver in a 1927 RCA Radiola speaker. Because of the price, I did not expect the highest quality in the market but I did get a decent speaker. I'm sure it would have sounded better had I actually mounted it in the wall. The "enclosure", that it is mounted in, is removable and does NOT seal the back of the speaker.
Summary: If you have ever installed a ceiling fan the wiring in the speaker has about the same difficulty rating in my opinion, its a do it yourselfer, i can't see any need for a professional to be involved since your not dealing with high voltage and there's only a couple wires to deal with. The hardest part is cutting a perfect circle with a sheetrock saw, but even sheet rock is forgiving and can be touched up with a little spackle.
