Summary: Really cool concept being that a 15 inch pro subwoofer is great for mobile productions. However, this one does not quite fit the bill. I received this speaker with the magnet of the woofer on the floor of the cabinet; yes that's right, the magnet fell off of the frame of the woofer. I was held in place by a small layer of glue. Also, the handles are made of plastic which rattle during bass sounds.
Summary: I bought this cuz it was powerful and cheap. I learned a lot about the thing once it arrived, really like the multiple interfaces (wire/banana plug, Speakon, TipRingSleeve) but I wish it coulda handled right and left. I had to buy another to drive both my speakers. Maybe I coulda done it but what the heck, I have two now and they are great!
Summary: Had been looking at these speakers for several weeks and could not pass up the deal on Amazon. Paid $81 each and shipping was free. Hard to go wrong at that price. Was a little hesitant though, as I could not find many reviews on these. When I set them up with my Yamaha DJ equipment, they did add more base but was not totally pleased. Then I read about adding an Aphex Aural Exciter with Big Bottom.
Summary: The Pyle subwoofer was better sounding then I expected, I already had an 18" unit on side and needed to expand my lows on the oppsite site of the room. This speaker did the job nicely, I'm very happy with the unit and Im considering buying a second! I recommend it if you dont want to spend a fortune on like subwoffers costing much more.
Summary: If you're looking to lighten your PA system but still have plenty of bottom, this is a great choice. Size and weight can't be beat at this price anywhere. These subs work very well and sound very good. The only negative, and a small one, is that they are not as efficient as the higher priced units, so you should make sure your amp has enough power. Nowadays that is not a big issue because of the availability of low-cost high-power amps.
Summary: hello, i recently bought this item (12-29-09) and it arrived quick, but the major problem was that it had something loose inside and the woofer sounded very low, it turn out that a part of the crossover was broken and the woofer was blown. so please be caustious when you order the item, other than that the cabinet is nice looking (i replaced the speaker) and it sounds GREAT not too large nor to little
Summary: I took a chance and bought two of these, and was surprised at how good they sound with a little bit of EQ'ing. The rated power handling is also believable. My sub amp hits each of them with roughly 700 watts, and with pretty much everything below 30hz rolled off, they take it without any obvious distortion or any hint of over-excursion. I use these subs to reinforce a small band for medium size crowds (300-500 people).
Pros: Attractive Design, Compact, Great Sound Quality
Summary: I took a chance and bought two of these, thinking that at the price I should keep my expectations low. When I hooked them up to my QSC, dialed in a little bit of low-end eq, and set the crossover at 75HZ, I was amazed; no, dumbfounded that such a low-priced sub could sound so good. I have the two of them hooked in parallel for a 4-ohm load, driven by a bridged-mono RMX1450, so each one is getting 700 watts, and they handle it quite gracefully.
