  • Summary: I bought the PSB Imagine T without every hearing them. A bit of a gamble on my part but after some soul searching and research made the leap. I was told at Crutchfield to allow a burn-in time to reach optimal sound. I was pleasantly surprised how rich the sound was out of the box. I like many generes of music. I love the way the highs, mid range and bass each remain clear without any loss in clarity in complex pieces of music.
  • Pros: The cabinet in dark cherry matched our hard wood floors and other pieces of furniture in our living room. The tower design look great next to our big screen TV. The sound reroduction is clear and concise.
  • Cons: You will need to high power amp to bring full spectrum to music fully. The cleaner your amp the better you will reach the sweet spot. A tad bit pricey but if you enjoy music it is a good investment in your ears.

Image vs. Imagine

Romarin, Crutchfield
17 September 2011
  • Summary: Have not heard the synchrony line of PSB speakers but the Imagine is so much better than the Image that the smallest and cheapest Imagine is better than the the top of the line Image. And the image isn't a bad speaker but I couldn't see throwing good money after bad and that's what you'd be doing buying an Image. As soon as you heard the Imagine you'd regret the day you wasted your money on the lesser speaker.

Excellent

  • Summary: I'm quite pleased with these speakers. On great recordings they sound rich, clear, clean and accurate over the whole frequency spectrum. When I compare them to my old DCM time windows, I find that they seem to lack a little crispness and sparkle. I'm driving these with a Marantz PM8005 which is adequate to achieve moderately loud sound levels in a 16x18 ft room. It, too, is reputed to impart a little warmth to the sound.
  • Pros: Accurate, natural - sounding, slightly warm in sound color, compact, beautiful black piano finish, great build quality, nice binding posts,
  • Cons: Not quite as crisp and sharp as some.
