Summary: These are beautifully engineered speakers. The quality is outstanding and the wood finish exquisite. That being said, they do have a common issue in the higher frequencies. They get shrill. And this is a deal breaker for me, so I sold these. This is a serious flaw, and a common one in the industry. Not all PSBs have that characteristic, however. Unlike the rest of the line, the high end PSBs, (the Synchronys, and also the Imagine minis), cut-off at 1,800 KHz.
Summary: I had a really good deal on these speakers so I went ahead and bought them in glossy black finish. The first look was stunning, they are very well finished are quality built and are quite heavy for a bookshelf that size. I plugged them bi-amped to my Arcam AVR 300 receiver and was immediately amazed at the quality of details and dynamism of this small bookshelf.
