Summary: I wasn't expecting such a good sounding speaker at this price. What other reviewers have said is generally true, they do sound a bit bright at first but that does seem to mellow out just fine. The low bass is weak as one would expect for a small speaker but it is clean and tight and rolls off smoothly with no hint of port noise. I use them with a subwoofer so the bass response is not an issue for me.
Summary: Packaging and Setup: Arrived extremely well packed, no damage. Beautiful piano black accents and black wood enclosures. Nice silver Polk Audio badges on the base of the silk screen. Very simply to hook up, I use banana plugs but you can also use bare wire. Very secure 5 post connections with torque screw fasteners. Sound: 10/10 for sound. Crystal clear highs and crisp mids. Surprising bass response too. I paired these with a Polk CS-10 center channel.
Summary: I like these speakers, although I sometimes perceive a strange low-pitched vibration with certain deep sounds from my Denon receiver while in DTS mode. These could be caused by the source, however. Changing the mode in my receiver addresses the issue. In general the speakers sound and look great.
Summary: I bought the matching set with these (Polk Audio TSi300 5.1 Home Theater Speaker Package), teamed them with a Harmon Kardon 1065 AVR and 48BK dvd player, totally awesome! Great sounding speakers and I have had allot of nice systems in my time, this ranked up there as THE BEST SETUP I've ever had!
Summary: Even after reading the reviews and doing the research, I wasn't expecting such a lovely-sounding speaker at this price. What other reviewers have said is generally true, they do sound a bit bright at first but that does seem to mellow out just fine. The low bass is weak as one would expect for a small speaker but it is clean and tight and rolls off smoothly with no hint of port noise.
Pros: Great sound! Inexpensive! Can get loud but stay clean-sounding Look quite nice Decent sensitivity
Cons: A subwoofer is helpful/needed The dual binding post system is a bit finicky
Summary: Jury still out.....sound is nice.....but I guess that is the problem..it is nice. They dont hit you with the crispness I expected. Paired them with a Marantz CR610 receiver......just lacks "drive"..
Pros: nice sound. Good profile...looks good in room
Summary: Not an audiophile, but I know what I like. These speakers are primarily used for a home theater set-up in a medium sized room...probably 18' x 18' but open to a larger great-room. These speakers are combined with a Polk CS10 center channel and RC80i rear speakers...and a 12" sub. I can't compare this set-up with anything else since it is replacing a non-surround set-up. There really is no comparison in that regard.
Summary: I'm a Polk fan - I have Polk outdoor speakers, Polk in-ceiling speakers, and a Polk subwoofer in the main living area. Addtionally, I already have Polk surround and center speakers, but going from 6.1 to 7.1 I was a speaker short. So I added these for front left and right channels. They added a tremendous amount of bass, enhancing a fantastic sub that I already had. They balance nicely with the smaller satellite speakers.
