Summary: nice speakers. good smooth sound with no distortion from a 80wpc amp. I'm receiving the yamaha aventage tomorrow and im sure theyll sound even better with the yamaha. shipping timing was great and the people at Crutchfield are very helpful with no hassle trying to sell what i dont need.
Pros: good sound no distortion. great hefty build and the piano black top looks great
Summary: These are really nice looking speakers right out of the box. The tops are shiny black and black wood grain looks nice. I am running them with a new Onkyo TX8020 receiver and new POLK PSW10 Subwoofer. I just wanted a simple set-up for radio, cd's, and mp3 player. These TSI100's sound great. They have crystal clear highs and a strong midrange. They are ported on the rear and push some air. I believe they can take everything my Onkyo TX8020 will give them.
Summary: Since these are essentially the "old" models, great prices can be had. I replaced my giant circa 90's Cerwin Vega speakers with these. Have had PA in the past for my other rack systems and have always enjoyed their quality. Basically the sound quality, range and clarity have shocked me. Once I totally burned them in, the stage presence and instrumental separation /imaging brought a smile to my face. I do have a PA 10" inch subwoofer which adds even more presence.
Summary: These function as my surround speakers. They don't get very deep bass but with the right accompaniment of other speakers they sound great. I wouldn't want these for my main speakers or center channel due to the lack of bass but they're perfect for surround. Nice rich sound, as you'd expect with polk speakers.
Summary: First, these things are pretty to look at. Now, that's not the important part of speakers, but they look amazing. Thankfully, they also sound amazing. Really great response from a bookshelf unit. I've tried them on a couple different amps that I have they are bright, clear, accurate and quite loud. Also, for their size they still pack quite a bass-punch.
