Summary: I really like these speakers. I have them sitting on stands in my room. I have them hooked up to a subwoofer, and that is what makes the difference. Alone these speakers are really enjoyable to listen to. The isn't the best but its there and its tight. The mids are a little mellow, but it is not a huge problem. The highs are there and vibrant. I had these hooked up to a small 20w amp, and even at that low of a power level these get loud, and still retain their clarity.
Summary: Although it pains me, I have to rate these speakers 4-Stars. The speakers are beautifully crafted. Furthermore, the Bass is astonishingly robust for a speaker this size. So why not the highest rating? I did an "A - B" comparison with my very large Klipsch floor-standing speakers that I wanted to replace because of their size.
Summary: I bought these to go with a Yaqin MC-10T tube amplifier, and I have to say I couldn't be more thrilled with the sound...highs, mids, lows are all crystal clear and full of depth. Thank you Polk Audio!
Summary: They look fine in black, but spectacular in cherry. I had to get the black because I found a deal. The sound is bright, spacious and revealing of depth and reverb, detailed regarding subtle musical elements, and very punchy on drums and such. Handles volume really well, but also good at lower volumes. Bass is good for such a small set of drivers, but I had a small sub sitting around, so I used it an it sounds great with the extra low lows.
Summary: My first experience with Polk speakers was about 4 years ago when I was listening to various brands in a store with my sister who was about to make a purchase. She agreed that the Polk "sound bar" was the right choice for her new TV. Since then I always looked to Polk audio and I have purchased their Atrium outdoor speakers for my deck. I am so glad that I bought the TSi200's for TV viewing. They are without a doubt exactly what speakers should be.
