Summary: I haven't owned Polk speakers since the 80's but found a great deal on these RTI6's. To say the least, I am truely amazed by the quality of sound these speakers produce. I have been into audio for over 40 years and have owned many many brands of speakers, but these are some of the finest I have heard. As of now my Definitive Tech Studio Monitors have been replaced by these Polks and I expect the sound will improve as the break in period approaches. Great speakers.
Summary: These RTi6 speakers from Polk Audio are excellent. The quality of construction is superb-the real cherry wood is gorgeous, and these are some solid boxes. The sound is rich and full, with even response over the frequency range. You won't get room-shaking bass, of course(one 6 1/2" woofer per speaker just won't do that!), but you will get smooth highs, warm mids, and tight bass. Run a subwoofer with these babies and you'll be blown away.
Summary: I am extemely satisfied with my new Polk Speakers. These were to replace a pair of older and bigger Polk speakers. The new smaller speakers sound just as good if not better that the older bigger ones.
Summary: I am the happy owner of two prototype Monitor 7 Polk Audio speakers. I purchased 4 RTi6 speakers used as follows: Using the two monitor 7 speakers for left and right channels, 1 RTi6 for a center channel (These speakers sit on top of a large cabinet located in the corner of a log house close to the ceiling), 2 more of the RTi6 speakers are used for surround left and right and the remainig RTi6 is used for the rear channel.
Summary: I was looking for great sounding speakers for a dedicated home-theater room, but wanted a clean look without tower speakers. The room was relatively small (13x13), so big speakers weren't really necessary. They needed to handle 120 watts, which these speakers do in spades. Even though the dimensions are specified in the on-line listings, they were bigger and heavier in person! So if you are looking for small/compact speakers, sook elsewhere!
