Summary: Good speakers for home theater. Not really happy with the quality of music they produce, but they do sound good for films. Given the choice of the RTi4 and BIC DV62si, I'd go with the BIC's. The BIC's are cheaper and reproduce bass better. The Polk's have a bit too much midrange and need to be supplemented with a subwoofer.
Summary: I added these two speakers to expand my existing 2.1 Onkyo HTX-22HDX to a 4.1 system. The Onkyo system has an optical connection to my Mac Pro, which I use for design work, music and games. My musical taste is strongly toward classical and some jazz, and the speakers do a great job faithfully reproducing orchestra and voice. I have found that lesser speakers will exhaust my ears after a few hours, but these Polk Audios deliver great clarity and no fatigue.
Summary: Pros: Very clear sound with strong mid and high tones. Remove the grill and the highs come to life. Don't need a centre with this pair. Play superb even at high decibel. Small size fit into most of the places. Dont need a wall bracket for mounting as bass port is in the front. A strong screw/hook is good enough. Cons: Do not buy if you don't have a Sub. Small bass driver lacks power, more like mid range drive than lower range.
Okay -OR- amazing; depending on your music preferences

Summary: *The following was written after ~5-10 hours of use *After 100 hours at the end I hooked these up with an Audionics CC-2 two channel amplifier (70 watts rms/channel) and they blew me away. When I played acoustic, jazz, classical, classic rock, and the like, these speakers bring the music alive like I've never heard before. VERY full and clear vocals, great crisp highs, clean - albeit thin - lows (if placed properly).
Summary: Got these to complete my 7.2 system. Paired with RTI12 front's and RTI8 surrounds along with a csi5 center. Not sure how they would perform by themselves but they work well with my set up. Overall they have great sound and were easy to mount.
Summary: I am using four Polk Audio RTi4 (side and surround) with a pair of RTi12 (front floor standing), CSi5 (center), PSW505 (subwoofer) for an overall 7.1 surround sound system. This is an amazing setup and timbre matched for overall fantastic sound and equivalent tonal characteristics, i.e. as similar sounds travel from one speaker to another the tone of the sound will not be altered as it moves.
