Summary: I ordered these to go with a Harmon Kardon receiver (AVR 1700) I found on a great clearance sale at Best Buy. They look beautiful, and I have no complaints about the sound. I'm not much of an audiophile, but I like my movies to sound good, and these are night-and-day different to listening to my television's built in speakers, or even my old hundred-dollar sound bar I bought a couple years ago at Radio Shack.
Good entry level speakers that are better than home theater in a box kits.

Summary: This speaker system to me seems to be better quality than those you get in standard home theater in a box kits. This is the way to go... purchase a 5.1 speaker system and then choose your AVR separately. With HTIB (Home Theater in a Box) kits you get at big box stores, they always cheap out on either the speakers or the receiver. Feeling like I have a little more control over my parts selection, I paired this with a Yamaha RX-V473.
Summary: Have had my Polk RM705 5.1 speaker system almost a month. Set up in 20 x 30 foot basement room with log walls and flat wood ceiling. The "four speakers" are all mounted high near ceiling, typical configuration for 5.1 setup, center speaker on floor below TV, and subwoofer at side of TV stand. Polk speakers were connected into a new Yamaha RX-V373 receiver.
Perfect for 12'x12' room - great sound at a great price

Summary: OK, so I just moved into a new apartment and my 'den' area is quite small - about 12' x 12'. I didn't need gigantic speakers so I went looking 'small' and found that these speakers had good reviews. After living with them for 6 days now, I can say that I am more than pleased with the sound - the subwoofer even had to be turned down a bit, it was so overwhelming.
Summary: I had been looking around and reading up on surround speakers for several weeks before I settled on this system. This being my first set I wasn't overly optimistic because of everything I read on audio forums that most people weren't to high on entry level speaker systems.Well after getting these set up and playing some movies and music, I found the system is plenty for my living room. The little surround speakers are easy to hide in your decor and the down firing bass...
Summary: Before I purchased this speaker set I browsed the reviews. I agree with what I read - The Sound is great and the speakers are attractive. I like the flexibility the SubWoofer provides to tweak the sound. I did not have any problem using 12 gauge wire, but my only complaint, which was expressed in other reviews, is that one of the spring clamps in a satellite speaker broke. I had to rig up a spacer to use it, but it is working.
Summary: I bought this set up for myself after my wife gave me a new Sony receiver for my birthday. The speakers sound great and movies are a pleasure to watch with the upgrade from may last home theater system. Im certainly no "audiophile", but I do like my movies and music to sound good and I did do a fair amount of research. These seemed to be a solid set of speakers for $250.
Summary: I spent a lot of time reviewing surround sound speakers to hook up to my Sony STR-K840P receiver. Most of the reviews for this set were 4-5 stars, so decided to get them. Looks like it was a very good decision. I'm using them in a fairly large room, and the sound is amazing. They also look great on the wall. I decided to do an "in-wall" installation to hide the wires, so the bracket mounting template was a real plus.
Summary: This speaker system is my first 5.1 surround powered by my new Denon AVR 1612. Great value for a mid entry level speaker system, BIG sound without the need of big speakers, perfect size speakers that I have in my bedroom, also the 8" powered subwoofer is just right for the size of my bedroom. Well worth the price. I Highly recommend.
