Good sound

John F., Newegg
6 March 2015
  • Pros: Great sound for the price. I'm using these has front speakers and have another pair of polk 6" round speakers for the rears. My receiver is very low-end, yet these speakers fill the room with great sound. Very happy with the performance given what I paid.
  • Cons: Not the best low-end. A sub-woofer is justified if these are your main speakers. But for 6.5" speakers, they sound good.

Great speaker for the money

Matthew P., Newegg
2 February 2015
  • Pros: Not sure how I would like "in wall" speakers. Bought these and the install was pretty easy. The hard part was fishing the speaker wire to the speaker, but with a little patience and time, i got it done. The sound so far has been great. I bought the JBL Loft 50 towers a few months ago. I used an o...
  • Cons: Cant really think of anything right now, but if something changes i will repost.

Must buy, the 8inch mid really makes a difference. Just cut your hole slightly bigger then the provided template.

  • Summary: Pros: I was replacing some other square enclosure speakers and also relocating one and I found these Polk RC85i. What I really like about these speakers are the size of the mid, with the given dimensions of the cut out I wouldn't think the 8 inch would ever fit but they did it.

Great speakers - use caution when painting the grill

commish22, Amazon
13 October 2014
  • Summary: These speakers have very high quality sound. Polk in general is a quality brand for speakers. These were very easy to install into the wall. It comes with a stencil to cut your hole and has simple winged anchors that clasp to the wall.

27 September 2014
  • Summary: I used to have Polk rt1515 bookshelves and they sounded decent. So I thought Polk in-walls would provide similar experience. Not even close ! Terrible boxie sounds. almost no lows nor high, real bad.

Sound great, look okay

Eric in Celina, Amazon
30 July 2014
  • Summary: These speakers sound good. I have them operating as the rear surrounds in a large family room, powered by a Pioneer VSX-1020 receiver. These speakers provide adequate sound for that purpose. Polk Audio makes good stuff and these are no exception. Installation was not difficult.

A pleasant surprise in sound quality and easy to install

dual-500, Ebay
10 April 2014
  • Summary: These are great sounding speakers! I had already installed RC85i in two bedrooms and was using a couple of pairs of small metal boxed bookshelf speakers in the bathrooms. My house is wired for audio in every room to include shop, kitchen & bathrooms.
