Summary: I wanted to upgrade from the CSI4 but I didn't want to spend all that money for CSI6, at 225.00 can't beat the price and it is a beautiful, sound matched speaker to my other RTI speakers, (A3 fronts/A1 rears) excellent center channel, sounds great and purchased from Polk, so it's under warranty for two years.
Summary: This is a great center speaker with very clear vocals and presence. You should always buy the biggest center channel possible since it carries 60% or more of the movie. It will also give your dialogue more presence, overall weight and anchor the system. Timbre matched with all RTi speakers. CSi5 vs CSi3: get the CSi5 since bigger the better.
Summary: I like most upper end Polk speakers and I do really like this one. It opens up when you supply clean power to it. I use an Adcom briged amp at 200 watts mono @ .09 THD. This speakers needs power to really open it up, my Onkyo 115 watt output did NOT do the job.
Summary: Big difference from my old Sony center speaker. Amazed by the sound quality. Purchased this from the J&R website to match my RTi-12 speakers. Comes in a well-padded large box. The only minor drawback is that the unit itself is about 30lbs. but you definitely get what you paid for. I also had to make sure when I was canvassing for my TV stand from several stores and manufacturers that this center speaker fits on to their shelf.
Pros: Attractive Design, Crisp Sound, Easy To Connect, Great Sound Quality, Powerful
Summary: I purchased this speaker to replace an old Polk CS200 center speaker that had blown a midrange. Checked first with Polk to see which would go best with my 4 older, but still excellent Monitor 7Cs and 5JRs, and the CSi5 was the recommendation. (It is being discontinued and now being replaced by the CS6i, which is the current recommendation.) Soundwise, this is a perfect match!
Summary: As I'm constantly upgrading my 7.1 surround I'm always looking for deals on components. I recently returned a Sony STR-DG910 7.1 receiver to Amazon after using it for about 3 weeks. I might add the the return process with Amazon was a very simple (no problem) experience. Anyway, I found the Sony receiver did not have enough power to run my current Polk Audio speaker set up (210 sub, Monitor 50 fronts, CSM center and R-15 surround and backs).
