Summary: This speaker if it matches my B&Ws then it will probably complement most systems.
Pros: So far, so good. It's been wonderful to actually hear speaking and details on DVD movies. I had an expensive B&W center channel speaker in my system. It puts the B&W to shame. And it stands up to my B&W Mk7s with thier boomy base very well. I thought it'd be business as usual with those loud sometimes over bearing speakers. But I was delightfully suprised. Well worth the money and then some.
Cons: Maybe a little too wide. But not too tall for most.
Summary: For budget conscious speaker buyers or those who want a more powerful, detailed sound than that delivered by most satellite speaker systems, the Polk Audio entry-level Monitor series speakers are an excellent option. The CS1 is one of two Center channel speakers offered in Polk Audio's entry level Monitor series. The CS2 uses a larger 6.5" diameter woofer, as opposed to the CS1's dual 5.25 woofers. Both use a full size one inch diameter tweeter.
Summary: I was just putting together a new home theater setup and combined this with a Denon receiver. Let me say that this speaker has beautiful sound, really amazingly crisp and clear. You may have heard people talk about the holographic sound stage, if you have this speaker you will know what they are talking about. I don't regret buying it for one second.
Summary: Make sure your wife knows what's coming, it took a few days to convince her this was not too large for our living room...
Pros: Another excellent product from Polk Audio, the amount of detail I now hear in my center channel is incredible. I intiially purchased this to replace an old all-in-one boxed set center channel I had for the last 5 years (JBL) and I'm amazed at what I was missing for so long. The amount of clarity and detail in voices now from movies is night and day (even better in Blu Ray too). The speaker feels well put together and is capable of handling more power than most receive...
Cons: The size!!!! Ahh the size, what can you say? Make sure you have the room for it. There is no mistaking it for anything other than a massive channel speaker...My old one was only 7-8 inches wide and was easy to camoflauge into the entertainment center. This thing is a beast, it's actually larger than the specs claim. I'm glad I didn't purchase the CS-20!!! It's even larger....Wow....
Summary: I have recently upgraded all of my speakers to Polk and have not been let done. This speaker does an amazing job and sounds great. I would recommend to anyone looking to upgrade their sound quality.
Summary: Huge. Huge deal, Huge sound, Huge Power, Huge Clarity, Huge size. I can't say enough about how good this sounds for the price I paid. I think I would have had to spend another three hundred or so to top this quality. I'd echo all the reviews that say this is a big speaker, you don't realize just how big until you pull it out of the box and realize you have purchased a monster. It is a full 20 inches wide and 16 lbs, just be sure you have the space for it.
Pros: Clear vocals - Crystal clear. Enough power for just about any application. Clean. Looks really nice/classy. Ignoring the fact that I leave fingerprints on the glossy sides, the gloss looks really nice.
Cons: Not so much a con, but it is no small speaker.
Summary: Very happy with polk audio speakers. Having a 5.1 system from them with a run of the mil yamaha receiver has been better than expected. Great range and clarity.
Pros: Wow, these are great. I listen to all types of music and purchased this center with 2 polk bookshelfs and 2 towers. Very happy with the sound quality. This is a great way to listen to movies and music. Highly recommended. Cheaper than best buy on newegg as well.
