Summary: I've been using small satellite speakers with a subwoofer for my family room home theater system for years. Grabbed some satellites from an old Logitech Z-5500 5.1 system. They got the job done, but I knew better quality was available at a good price if I was willing to do some homework. When my Harman Kardon receiver bit the dust after 17 years of service, it was time to upgrade, which caused somewhat of a snowball effect.
Summary: I've noticed after a few years that I have been turning the receiver up more and more to hear dialogue in movies and TV shows. Then the music comes on or a gunshot rings out and it's crazy loud. I turn it back down only to hear mumbled dialogue again in the next scene. For a while I thought it was me, but my wife recently told me she has the same issue. Ah...got it. Speaker issue. I had a small center speaker that just fit under the TV.
Summary: This is an OUTSTANDING Speaker. My hearing sucks (from years of ear buds and loud music) and I can clearly hear the dialogue in movies and TV shows. However, be mindful of the depth of the speaker. It is nearly 10” deep, and my new Samsung LED TV is only 3” deep when attached to the wall. So nearly ½ a foot of the speaker protrudes out past the TV, which is not aesthetically pleasing.
Great for a medium to bigger room - AND non returnable.

Summary: I haven't had that many center speakers - since I ordered it I've been blown away by the clarity and dynamism this speaker puts out. I have been upgrading my whole system and mostly listening to what is now fantastic music CD quality. Then I plugged the CS10 in with the boys and WOW. I have a small - about 12'x12' personal room and this thing rocks the whole house. All speakers want to be turned up a bit and stretch their legs to showoff their capabilities.
This speaker is great. I immediately noticed a difference in my sound ...

Summary: This speaker is great. I immediately noticed a difference in my sound field with this installed over the smaller one I had. I also noticed the timbre matching between this speaker and the Polk Audio TSi 400 tower speakers I had. Everything was much more clear and even across the board. The one thing that surprised me was the actual size of the speaker. It is quite a bit larger than my old center channel and it took me by surprise.
Summary: I love my new Polk center channel! This is a 2-way center speaker that does not have a dedicated midrange driver, but it does have two 5.25-inch woofers that handle the middle and low frequency tones. These woofers are made with bi-laminate organic fiber cones. The organic fiber on these drivers isn't as rigid as metal, so it is able to move and vibrate more freely. A single 1-inch tweeter is responsible for the high frequency signals.
Summary: I originally had a home theater in a box. The speakers weren't bad. The center was small and just OK. In most 5.1 movies and TV shows, most of the audio uses the center speaker and all the dialogue is through it. I bought this because I often couldn't hear the dialogue , would make it louder only to have it too loud in the action scenes. This speaker is quite big and it sounds great. Way more bass and I can clearly hear the dialogue.
