Summary: I love my new Polk center channel! This is a 2-way center speaker that does not have a dedicated midrange driver, but it does have two 5.25-inch woofers that handle the middle and low frequency tones. These woofers are made with bi-laminate organic fiber cones. The organic fiber on these drivers isn't as rigid as metal, so it is able to move and vibrate more freely. A single 1-inch tweeter is responsible for the high frequency signals.
Summary: I originally had a home theater in a box. The speakers weren't bad. The center was small and just OK. In most 5.1 movies and TV shows, most of the audio uses the center speaker and all the dialogue is through it. I bought this because I often couldn't hear the dialogue , would make it louder only to have it too loud in the action scenes. This speaker is quite big and it sounds great. Way more bass and I can clearly hear the dialogue.
Summary: I have been using this speaker for several months now and it sounds awesome! Voices and other sounds directed to the center channel are extremely clear and crisp. The speaker also has a fairly good amount of lows and mids to balance out the sound. The rest of my setup is as follows: Denon AVR1912 Klipsh Towers (The ones that were exclusive to BestBuy, not sure of the model) Polk Audio rears (Older series of bookshelf speakers I bought from a friend)
Summary: After having operated the CS10 for more than a month I can say without equivocation that this center speaker operates very well indeed. What I was seeking was clarity of voice and that's what i got. This Polk lives up to the reputation of the manufacturer. This modestly priced system performs well above expectations. It's a value, think of that in this modern economic climate.
Pros: The ability to flip the speaker over to elevate the sound field was a great idea.
