Summary: This speaker is amazing. I tested it on some great FLAC vocal music (Tool and dredg) and I have never heard such clarity, even at loud volumes. This was recommended by an audiophile friend, and I can hear why. It is pretty hefty, but exceedingly worth the weight and size.
Pros: Polk Audio knows speakers, and this one is no exception. The center channel speaker is very clear, precise, and not overbearing. It's large in size to accommodate the speakers, I knew this before I bought it. Looks real nice with my other Polk Audio floor standing speakers.
Summary: I had bought a Sony SSCN5000 elsewhere. It sounded muddled and didn't bring out movie dialogue very clearly. Though slightly more expensive, this Polk unit blows it away. If you are considering the Sony model, forget it and buy the Polk.
Pros: Price and performance. Excellent, clear sounding center speaker really brings out dialogue during movies. Solid construction. Low price (I bought on special offer.) Ability to flip speaker upside down to direct sound upwards, if desired. Clear sounding center speaker (did I mention that?)
Summary: You will have to consider the shelf space for this center channel. I built my own TV stand, so the shelf is perfect for this. I have seen that the home theater shelves available in stores don't have a good space for this center channel.
Pros: The sound is really good. It has improved my home theater experience. I have paired it with the Polk 50 Floor standing speakers and a Mirage 10" sub.
Cons: I don't enjoy going to other people's place and watch games or movies if they don't have a good sound system. The speakers have spoiled me
Summary: The first thing I noticed, is that this is a large well built speaker. Looks good on the fireplace mantel just below the flat screen TV. When I first fired it up, the speaker produced clear music and vocals from a CD.
Summary: I bought this speaker a couple of weeks ago and if I could give this thing a 11/10 I would. The sound quality on this thing is such a large leap over my previous center(a Yamaha that I got with a Home Theater in a Box set) I also upgraded my rear speakers to Polk Audio M3II's so it really helps the...
Summary: My old Optimus from Radio Shack was shot. I think I paid $100 for it. After searching around on the net, I ran into Polk Audio. I was familiar with the name and the sound quality. I was limited with space (width) due to my cabinet that I made. This one would fit, and the price was good too.
Summary: There's not much to say. I did my research and found that this is the perfect price point for me (I wanted an affordable upgrade that I won't be wanting to upgrade again for many years, but I'm not an "audiophile"). Polk seems to always offer great value.
Pros: It works perfectly, looks great (glossy black on the sides, piano black on top and bottom), sounds good, and is at the perfect price point.
