Summary: I have recently upgraded all of my speakers to Polk and have not been let done. This speaker does an amazing job and sounds great. I would recommend to anyone looking to upgrade their sound quality.
Summary: Considering how much you can spend on a center channel speaker, this one sounds pretty good. I have always had particular taste in sound, preferring a lot of mid range over treble and bass. While it is not my old Boston Acoustic speakers it is pretty good. You should probably go listen to speakers before you buy them though (I did. I might have bought it at the retail store, but I could get nobody to help me). Then pick out what you want.
Summary: When I bought a 50" HDTV a few years ago, I bought an all in one home theater package. The type you typically see in the $300-$400 Range. The surround was fun, but for listening to music it was pretty muddy. I decided to put together a better system. I started with a Yamaha Rx-V663 receiver and a pair of Polk Tsi-200 bookshelf speakers. Had I stopped there, I would have been very satisfied with that system for music.
Summary: I bought this as a Christmas present for my father, and liked it so much I replaced my slightly smaller/shallower Paradigm speaker with this Polk instead. I also run Polk 4" surround bookshelf speakers with a pair of Boston Acoustics 8" front speakers and a 10" Klipsch sub. This speaker added the mid and low range that the former center channel speaker was missing, so each component of the setup contributes equally to the overall sound, rather than making the sub create...
Summary: I purchased this center channel at Circuit city today. I paired it with a Sony STR DG520, Bose Acoustimass 10 cube surround sound speakers, Acoustic Audio PSW10. I have since played Transformers, Normal TV (digital cable), Halo 3, and Music Channel TV stations, and FM radio through it. I also listened to this against the $200 Bose Center channel, $250 Klipsch, $230 Boston Acoustic, and cheaper $110Polk Center Channel.
Summary: I bought a pair of Polk Audio speakers in the late 80s....thought they were the best then. This center channel speaker made it clear Polk Audio is still among the best, if not the best, in the speaker department. I matched it with 2 TSI100s (left and right bookshelves), 2 RM8s (for rear channel surround), and the PSW-10 (subwoofer). All are by Polk Audio. It's the best sounding set-up I've heard....and I've heard quite a few in local stores. For the money...
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Connect, Great Sound Quality, Powerful
Summary: First off I must rate JR Computers & Electronics; 5 stars there. Ordered this unit on a Wednesday & it arrived via UPS Friday, same week. It was in original factory carton unopened, packed inside a second larger box with still more packing material, safe and sound! I've ordered other items from JR and as always, for an online purchase I barely had time to blink. Now about the product; Nice looking wood finish, with the face in silver.
