Summary: I am in the process of putting together a home theater system. Initially I only had two front speakers - Polk Audio TSi200's hooked to a Pioneer VSX 1040 receiver. The sound was great but you could sense there was something missing when playing songs on my iPod or watching a DVD - particularly the vocals were not too clear. Adding this center speaker simply had a day-and-night difference and music sounds beautiful as do DVDs.
Pros: Already mentioned above
Cons: Not much of a con, but the size is clearly something you have to be prepared for.
Summary: Before I bought these speakers, I only had an old set of 100 shelf speakers. So for my birthday, I added this center speaker. It easily doubled my sound and I was able to achieve a fantastically clear mid-range that I was just not able to get with my always too tinny or too bassy shelf speakers. When I added the PolkAudio 10-inch subwoofer Polk Audio PSW110 10-Inch Powered Subwoofer (Single, Black) to the mix, it sound even more incredible!
Summary: After not being overly impressed with a pair of Polk Audio satellite speakers and one of it's 10" sub woofers, I was unsure of what I would get with this Center Speaker-trusting the reviews as I made my online purchase. After hooking up this baby all I can say is "Wow"! For the amount of money spent, this was easily one of the best purchases I have ever made. The sound is terrific and won me over to Polk forever.
Summary: I bought this one year ago to replace a fading Cambridge Soundworks Center Stage Speaker. For any home theater set up, the center speaker is the work horse shouldering most of the sound reproduction load meaning this was an important buy. Although I was concerned about ending up with an audio mismatch with the remaining and still excellent Cambridge front and rear surround units and subwoofer, the then price of $86 combined with free shipping proved irresistible.
Summary: After doing some research on center channel speakers for Amps that don't cost $1200 I decide to buy these. I could not be happier. They have crisp full sound with little to no distortion. I had a Sony surround sound system and slowly upgraded. After purchasing Energy CF-50's for my front channels they overwhelmed my center channel Sony speaker. The Sony just didn't measure up. In fact voices seemed muffled and were hard to hear.
