Summary: I'm on a budget, so I'm gradually upgrading my 5.1 surround sound system as I go. My original center speaker was a speaker from a low-powered Aiwa bookshelf stereo system. Needless to say, I was not happy with that configuration. My floor-standing front left and right speakers totally overpowered the center speaker; dialogue was almost lost in the surrounding soundscape - even after I jacked up the center-channel volume all the way.
Summary: Purchased with Sony A/V 5.1 receiver to augment Sony Bravia TV. Rather than purchase a center-bar speaker that has the same puny sound as the TV itself this set-up gives full, rich sound to my video set-up.
Summary: Paid $79.99. Price was a factor but so were reviews. Very good sound. Enclosure kind of big but gives you good sound. Sounds great with blue-ray DVD. Would buy more POLK brand. Good value. No Cons.
Summary: Pocked this center up for $80. It sounds great, really puts out a full range of sound. Really has the ability to make movies come alive, never distorts. Sizewise, it is very, very deep. I had to build a riser for my TV so it would tuck up underneath the screen. Very happy with it.
Summary: I purchased this center speaker for my "value-priced" home theater system. It perfectly complements the Polk Audio in-wall front speakers ( Polk Audio RC65i 2-Way In-Wall Speakers (Pair, White) ), and in-ceiling surrounds ( Polk Audio RC80i 2-Way In-Ceiling Speakers (Pair, White) ). While I'm at it, they're all connected to an Onkyo TX-SR608 7.2-Channel Home Theater Receiver (Black) along with a BIC V1020 10" Down-Firing Powered Subwoofer .
Summary: Just hooked this up a couple of hours ago and this thing sounds amazing right out of the box.The cherry finish is beautiful and it looks great on top of my tv.I know they say speakers have to be broken in so I guesss I'm in for a real treat as it already sounds great.
Summary: My rig may not be top of the line, but does put a big smile on my face. Movies come to life, like being in a good movie theater. Music listening, Jazz, classical, unplugged rock has a whole new dimension, very real vibrant. Hard rock seem to get a bit harsh, but them I may need to equalize it a bit. Vocals are superb, clean, crisp, with very very life like qualities.
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy Setup, Great Sound Quality
