Summary: A Common frustration among home theater owners is that the dialogues are just not that clear and immersive as they find it in the actual theater. Most of the sound that you listen in movies in a 5.1 setup comes from the center channel and therefore the center channel deserves your attention if you want to fix the dialogue problem.
Summary: Now I can understand the vocals in movies, I was Listening to Front L/R with a Sub and the Vocals were hard to pick up and understand. Now with this CS10 I have watched several DVD's and have'nt missed a beat.
Pros: Very good Build Quallity and can sit straight on or angle up/down due to the cabinet design. Real good Bang for the buck.
Summary: I had seen this center-channel speaker from Polk Audio in an audio-visual store for $189. Just before purchasing it, I decided to go online and found the same speaker here for this price. It has superb sound, and the delivery was extraordinarily punctual, arriving by UPS overnight. I know where to start my search in the future!
Pros: The sound in my home theater is much better than it used to be with the Polk Audio TSi CS10 speaker. This was a very good investment for me
Summary: Took a little longer than the equipment in my order, but came in within the allotted time...no problem. The speaker is perfect for my application. It has a nice crisp sound. It looks great also.
Summary: Going from a 2.1 to a 3.1 setup was fantastic with the Polk CS1. Back in the day I was able to splurge on some Polk Lsi7s, and with young kids running around adding that Lsi center was waay out of the question. The CS1 fit the bill perfectly. I figured even though they aren't matched and a different series, I'd just let the Audyssey do the work on the Onkyo NR-808 anyway, and it sounds fantastic. It sounded pretty good without setup as well.
Summary: I have owned Polk Audio speakers for 25 years in different sizes and configurations (I even have my old Monitor 5jr+ in my newly remodeled garage). I recently upgraded my main system speakers to the Monitor 70s (which I found on Amazon for less than half the retail price) and since I was using a much smaller Polk center channel speaker, I could tell that the vocal dialog tracks were lacking volume in comparison. They also seemed "boxy".
Great speaker, but I am glad I read other reviews first.
20 February 2012
Summary: As other reviewers have stated, this speaker is huge. Almost 10 inches in depth and weighs in around 20 pounds. I took a couple of reviewer's suggestions and measured and measured again. This way I was sure I had the space to set this speaker up without it being to crowded. The estimate was for the product to be delivered the following Tuesday, it arrived the Friday before that. Guess it arrived on time, eh?
Summary: I am in the process of putting together a home theater system. Initially I only had two front speakers - Polk Audio TSi200's hooked to a Pioneer VSX 1040 receiver. The sound was great but you could sense there was something missing when playing songs on my iPod or watching a DVD - particularly the vocals were not too clear. Adding this center speaker simply had a day-and-night difference and music sounds beautiful as do DVDs.
Pros: Already mentioned above
Cons: Not much of a con, but the size is clearly something you have to be prepared for.
