Summary: You cant go wrong with this center channel speaker. I have owned several different brands in the past such as Sony, MTX, Yamaha, Klipsch....ect. I have a slight hearing problem and with all the other brands I mentioned above, none have performed as well as the Polk CS10! With the other brands when a lot of action background noise was being played with my slight hearing loss there were several times I just couldnt understand what was said.
Summary: I'm in the process of constructing a home theater and am upgrading from 5.1 to 7.2. I used Polk Audio RC85i in wall speakers for the surround back speakers and holy hell did I notice a difference in sound, clarity and sheer envelopment that I never experienced with my previous speakers. Same surround sound receiver, same wires / connectors... HUGE difference and well worth the upgrade (I just got another pair to be the surround sides).
Bought it for home theater use, but got more than I bargained for

Summary: I purchased this CS10 to finish out my Polk surround system, having decided to replace a much inferior Bose system I have used for several years. While I am very pleased with the CS10 as a center channel speaker for 5.1 video entertainment purposes (it is excellent), my greatest enjoyment of the CS10 turns out to come from a use that I had not even anticipated: listening to 2 channel stereo music recordings (CD, MP3) processed by my amp/receiver with the Dolby Prologic...
Summary: I have two home theater setups, one with large Polk Audio speakers I chose and one with a Bose Acoustimass 10 that came with the house. I found my aging ears had much less trouble hearing dialogue from the Polk system, so I bought this center speaker to use with the Bose setup. Now I don't have to ask "What did they say?" nearly as often, and I don't need the volume as high. That's the pro. The con? I will probably end up replacing the remaining Bose speakers with Polk.
Summary: The speaker works. It is in the center speaker enclosure in the Kathy Ireland Home by Martin Park View 60-1/2-Inch Full-Sized Tall Entertainment TV Console; 36-Inch Height and driven by the Pioneer VSX-1020-K 7.1 Home Theater Receiver . Dialog now comes from the center (unless the speaker is off to one side) and the voices are very clear and understandable. The days of my looking at my wife and saying, "What did he say?" may be coming to an end.
Summary: I bought one of these to upgrade the center channel in my entry-level Polk RM6750 5.1 system. It has made an incredible difference in the way all my different sources sound. I didn't realize how much weight the center channel was pulling until I got this speaker. It really seems like it should be priced closer to $200. I will eventually buy front and rear speakers to match this one.
Summary: I was going to purchase the BOSE center channel speaker for $179. Went to a "box store" to check the sound quality & they had the Polk Audio CS10 speaker there. Huge difference. Th Bose sounded weak & hollow. I'm now convinced BOSE is all marketing to justify their high prices. The Polk Audio speaker had a deep crisp sound that also plays well for music when not watching movies; at 1/2 the price!
Summary: I have a 7.1 theater system, being pushed by a Sony head unit. I had upgraded all of my speakers except for the center channel. I was using an off brand thing I found at a pawn shop. Dialog was muffled and my dad could never understand what was being said. So I broke down and finished off with this Polk Audio center channel. I am a researcher when it comes to buying stuff. I will look and look and look....then look some more.
