Summary: Ha ha got this with onkyo 7.1 receiver and Polk in wall speakers and a bunch of other stuff to install for a family friend. package it and the receiver came in where kinda messed up (good old ups) so I pulled them out and pluged in the center channel Polk psw110 sub and onkyo receiver. While pluged in and running off iPod they came home and thought I already installed the whole thing cause they could hear it from outside apparently with amazing clarity.
Summary: I had been considering buying this speaker for a while and for whatever reason didn't. My procrastination cost me $30 extra, but after hearing it I'm not the least bit upset! Those who say that your center channel is the most important speaker is exactly right. I've incorporated it with a set of Polk Audio RM10-5 pack speaker system I bought a few years ago. The sound is much clearer & crisper than what we had before.
Pros: Excellent sound!
Cons: It's a little big, but if you have the room go for it.
Summary: These comments are mainly for those with a hearing loss in the upper frequencies. The entertainment system is located in a large room that serves as a library as well as a music room(for a 3 manual Allen Organ). The Polk CS10 is located 15 ft. from the listener. With the use of hearing aids to amplify the high frequencies: Pros: size and weight.
Summary: I purchased this center channel speaker along with 2- TSi 100's. So I have 4- 5 1/4" speakers across the front of the room. This is just the perfect size for me as I can turn it up and this speaker can handle the volume. But it's not so loud that you'll bother your neighbor. They will handle the volume of loud times in movies just fine. Great quality, sound, this is heavy and solid and nice looking.
Summary: Clear sound. Doesn't quite match my front speakers in ohms or volume. Have been tinkering around with adjustments via my AV Receiver setup features. The speaker is large and a bit bulky, but I have the room to accommodate it in the entertainment cabinet.
Summary: If you are familiar with Polk Audio speakers, then you already know they generally produce the finest quality speakers at every price point where they are represented. This CS1 center channel is no exception to that standard rule. If you paid the full retail price of $200 a few years ago, before it was discontinued, you got the absolute best center channel available for $200.
Summary: This is the second Polk Audio speaker I've bought. The first was another Center channel, though it was a gift for a friend. The clearity and bass response of this speaker out performed my expectations by quite a margin. I can only say good things, and the looks are very nice too. As long as you are using a quality receiver/amp, you'll be happy.
