Summary: I hooked these up to my Yamaha RX-A840, and was not impressed at all. I then hooked them up to my fully recapped/resoldered Pioneer Sx1080, and BOOM! These speakers really rock, and have a surprising amount of bass for their size, and midrange/highs are precise enough to cut like a knife.
Summary: My experience with using these speakers has been very good. I have worked with a lot of audio systems and have built dozens of cabinets myself. These are done very well and the components used are not cheap ones, I've pulled the these apart.
Summary: I have three stereo systems in my home, all Polk speakers-living room pair Classic Monitor 10-B and pair Classic Monitor 7-B, bedroom 2 pair Monotor 40 II-B and a Polk PSW 111 subwoofer, and Office 1 pair Monitor 40 II-B. Polk have been my go-to speakers for 30 years.
Summary: Using a pair of these with a Polk 10" subwoofer driven by an 80W amp, with output from my PC sound card. This makes a fabulous PC speaker setup! Great for listening to music at work, editing video sound, etc. Got all of it 50% or more off on sale. As others have noted they are large.
Summary: I love the sound from these, it's great even though they're much smaller than speakers I'm usually using. I intend to use them eventually with an Onkyo TX-NR616 as the surrounds in a 7.1 system, but they are currently hooked up to some older Onkyo receiver and work just fine on that for my computer...
Summary: I'm a licensed audio/video contractor and I've sold lots of these speakers to my customers. High quality sound, tight bass and crisp highs. More presence than you would expect from a speaker in this price range with no mid-range driver. Nice finish and good looks too.
