Summary: Had these originally as left and right front and as center channel as well. Powered by Yamaha 90 x 7 receiver. These speakers are great in terms of ease of installation, appearance and most notably sound quality EXCEPT as a dedicated center channel. As a center they struggle at high volumes to provide clean separation between vocals and loud, dynamic soundtracks.
Summary: Installation was a breeze with the included template. Construction of remodel mounting assembly very solid. Speakers sound great in 7.1 setup (being utilized as surround speakers). Couldnt be happier with the purchase and the performance of these speakers.
Summary: I was somewhat skeptical about buying these speakers since they were replacing two Yamaha tower speakers. My wife wanted to "clean up" our entertainment center which meant replacing the towers. These Polk speakers sound just a good as the large towers they replaced. Installation was very easy and they look great!
Pros: Great sound. Simple installation. Great appearance - low profile.
Summary: I did a lot of research on in wall speakers and came to the conclusion that these would do. With the speakers being in an infinite baffle (no box), my expectations were; little to no deep bass and moderate mid bass. I was somewhat correct. The mid bass is excellent. Lows are non existent but the highs are excellent. Over all I'm very happy with my purchase. I used the 5.25 rt series center that has amazing sound as well.
Summary: Installed these speakers as surrounds in my media room and they are BRILLIANT. Rarely can you install a set of in-wall or in-ceiling speakers and not miss the presence of a subwoofer in the room. At this point in my room build, I have not installed fronts, center or subwoofer yet. So I ran these speakers by themselves and then I also ran them paired with my rear surrounds (Polk RC80i's). On both occasions, they sounded brilliant.
Summary: I was hesitant about getting in wall speakers, but decided to bite the bullet and try them out. I have 2 of these for my rear surround speakers. They are decent on their own but i highly recommend you use at a subwoofer with them.
Summary: I have a 7.1 setup and use the 265RT as the front, right, and center while using these 65RT for all 4 surround channels (technically these aren't the preferred type of speakers for the main rear channels but this is the route I chose to go). I couldn't be happier with this lineup of speakers.
