Good Speakers That Will Sound Excellent After Break In
11 March 2015
Summary: I just received these yesterday, and so far have played a few hours of different types of music through them. Out of the box they don't sound excellent so, like another experienced audiophile said, they do need break in time. The highs were what made me take some points off. The mids and lows to me were both excellent. I am confident that the tweeters will smooth out and sound much better after 10-20 hours of play. The build quality for this set is very good.
Summary: These really sound excellent for the money and are really the best value in the under $1000 per pair price range. You will need a subwoofer to cover the low low end <70hz. Very good imaging and very very nice tone using a pro-audio quality Crown amplifier to drive them. Also, they have very nice build quality. Solid, with a handsome black finish. Highly recommended.
Excerpt: Thanks B&H for selling such a GREAT product as the Pioneer SP-FS52 by Andrew Jones. Pioneer has a winner here. No need of any other speakers for sure. Even with the big snow storm, you folks had it here in a couple of days.
Summary: These speakers are the perfect fit in any set up. From 2.0 to 5.1 and beyond they iwll serve as the perfect anchors to your system. I have been using them in both a dedicated 2.0 listening setup mostly since setting them up. When powered through a dedicated class D stereo amp you could hear the true power and range of the speakers. They are loud as needed, but more importantly they produce a crisp sound that is open and not narrow at all.
Summary: I was looking for a great sounding surround sound set that wasn't to much money. I did a lot of research and bought the complete set of Andrew Jones speakers in 2012. The only thing I didn't get was the sub. I went with a Polk 12" sub. Let me just say the floor speakers alone are extremely impressive. Sometimes I set my reciver to 2.0 and marvel at the sound quality of the SP-FS52s. They are full, clear, deep and have such a great powerful yet balanced sound!
They easily fill the room and make the movie even more ...

Summary: I bought the floor standing and center channel to replace VERY cheap monoprice surrounds for a home theater and have been blown away by every piece in this set (use the bookshelves for the TV upstairs). They easily fill the room and make the movie even more immersive than before. Granted, I got them on a huge sale (close to 50% off) but would still suggest them at full price.
Summary: These turned out to be pretty good speakers. Getting them during a limited special offer was great too. I bought 4 of these for a 5.1 system on a good Yamaha receiver for my "workout" room. I always prefer using 4 matched speakers for the corner speakers in 5.1 and these worked out well. Sound is nice and clean. Not a great as my 4 Klipsch towers in the great room, but then these were almost an order of magnitude less expensive...
Summary: I ordered and received two of these floor standing speakers and two bookshelf speakers as well as the center speaker from the SP-PK52F line sold as a package. In trying out the bookshelf speakers I was thoroughly disappointed in the surround sound aspects of the speaker line for the bookshelf and center speaker as they were barely audible when installed despite the adjustments I made using the YMAO sound optimization feature from my Yamaha receiver.
Summary: I do not have an audiophile (read: limitless) budget, but I have been directly exposed to top tier live sound systems such as Funktion One & Turbosound. I know what sounds and feels good. These speakers are an excellent value and they produce wonderful vibrations. I bought a pair of these floor standing speakers for ~$127 a piece or around ~$250. I am very happy with their performance, they sound fantastic and I imagine they will perform as such for a very long time.
