Summary: I have paired these speakers with the LP-2020A+ Lepai Tripath Class-T Hi-Fi mini-amp that costs about $25. I bought the speakers at a heavy discount [check out camelcamelcamel to see how much the price can fluctuate] and feel like it is an awesome sub $200 sound system for an ipod/computer or preamp w/ turntable. I don't drive the speakers very hard -- probably no more than a quarter volume.
Good sounding speakers for the money, especially when you can find them on sale.

Summary: I'm still in the process of breaking these speakers in but I'm getting some enjoyable music out of them. I have two pair of Infinity bookshelf speakers, a pair of 5" and a pair of 6", both of which I think sound better and I bought them on sale too so the price was about the same as these tower speakers.
Summary: Before buying the FS52, I had a pair of Dayton B652, then a pair of 3 way sony bookshelf speakers from Goodwill. After switching to the pioneers floor standing speakers, the major difference was mostly in the mids and highs. The pair of old sony had a 7 inch woofer, so the bass was decent, but the mids and highs were not as good as the pioneers. The dayton b652 was no match what so ever. The pioneers aren't as tiring on your ears as my old sonys.
Summary: I am kicking myself as I type, because I only bought 2!! These speakers are amazing! Loudspeaker? Loud is one thing but what good is loud if it isn't clear. Should have been called "crystal speaker", because that's how clear the sound is. Absolutely amazing. I had a sub from before and now my house sounds like Deadmau5 is performing in my living room... From a block away! Bottom line, if your speaker shopping, look no further. Thank you Pioneer!
