Summary: One thing about this speaker that you need to know.... Awesomeness !!! The sound quality, construction of these speakers are fantastic. love the shape and style of em'. Also have the Pioneer SP-FS51 Towers for front left and right SP-BS21 in the rears.... these speakers sound incredible Nice work Pioneer.. glad I was able to find another one to fill my rear center spot...
Summary: This speaker is loud, crisp, and clear. It is by far the best center channel speaker I have found for the price. I just couldn't see myself spending over $100 for a center channel so this is a great performing and looking speaker.
Summary: The center speaker is very high (about 8.5 inches). I had to purchase a TV riser with 10 inch clearance so the speaker could be set below the TV. Overall, I am very happy with the sound quality of this center speaker.
Summary: I think the speaker is a bargain. 70% of 5 channel sound comes from the center channel. It's better than the one I had ( a cheap little Sony toy speaker) , but I have heard much better. Had I the money, and watched much more tv, I would have spent much more money.
Summary: I bought this as a gift for someone without a center channel previously. This sits along two floor-standing pioneer speakers. I also bought the two bookshelf surround speakers that match this center. After telling the receiver that there is now a center channel, all dialog is anchored to this speaker now. All dialog and other on-screen action is very clear and much louder than when it came out the two floor-standing speakers. Great bass also, as others have said.
Summary: This is a great center channel speaker. Sounds much better than my older, smaller one. In a 7.1 setup the center channel does much of the work, so it's important to have quality. I haven't tested this in ways that an audiophile would, but I'm very happy with it for TV and movie watching. One word to the wise: It's big. It's something like a foot tall and two feet wide, you need a bit of space for this bad boy.
Summary: We are really enjoying this center channel speaker. We love the clarity of the dialog. . .pretty much putting an end to that ever present question "What did he say?". The only drawback is that this speaker is pretty large. Check out the dimension and be aware that you need some space beneath your flat screen to make this work. Ours is hanging on the wall. . .so we made room for the speaker.
Summary: I have a Pioneer AV Receiver, old model, but 5.1 with 100 watt each channel. Listening to some DVDs, DTS Audio Setup i noticed that the Center Channel did not handle 100 watt. At maximum sound volume there's already sound distortion. Rated 130 watt, the center channel should easely reproduce 100 watt without distortion. I'm a lit bit disappointed. I'm planing to buy a new av receiver next year with hdmi, 3d, and more setup options, 80hz crossover etc.
