Chief Rocka Dr. Kool "Chief Rocka Dr. Kool", Amazon

Summary: I had JBL speakers which were good, but I always wanted something considered official high-end, just to see what it was like. I was going to give Martin Logan and Definitive a try, but when I saw them in person, they looked cheap to me. I kept searching (my main ranger was $300-$400) and I decided to go with with factory direct speakers, but so many were so different with so many different prices. I could not be sure where to go.
Summary: I also purchased these speakers based largely on the rave review in Sound and Vision magazine (though, to be accurate, that review was mostly about their big brother the Aviano 6). At first listen, I thought they sounded pretty nice but a bit too polite. For the money I paid I was more or less content, but all the while I was thinking that there's no way these speakers are worth their retail price of $595 or $695 (I've seen both prices quoted). Then something happened...
Summary: I purchased these speakers after reading the online review on Sound and Vision. The reviewer mentioned that these speakers were phenomenal for the price, with a delightful midrange and voice presentation, or what I call "presence" or "liquid midrange," a characteristic of the speakers to render human voice alive, as if the singer were in the room, singing six feet away from you. I had hopes that this pair of speakers would be it. It wasn't.
Summary: having bought the aviano 2 speakers. i was very impressed by the size and quality of these speakers. easy to wire up the first thing you notice is the sound they produce. i mean big clear sound. the music i listento is .plnk floyd. hendrix. jethro tull. neil young. chilli peppers. these speakers bring sounds out that i had never heard before. they get better every da. for the price i paid from amazon. i think mordaunt short have produced a first class speaker.
