Summary: These speakers are quite transparent and with the right gear will leave you very satisfied. They have excellent bass. They do require careful positioning and have a rather narrow sweet spot. Having auditioned higher models of ML, I would say these speakers deliver the same sound quality and build, albeit on a smaller scale, that the other models do but at a fraction of their price. Unfortunetly, ML chose to discontinue the model and replaces it with their new ESL line.
Summary: Picked up my Martins - Source- last saturday and overeagerly set them up expecting to be blown away with some of my demo discs & downloads. Disappointed - sound wasn't right. No warmth no delicious mids or highs. I figured it might be my aging h.k receiver didn't have the ooomph to fire them up properly, so I ran my cables to my powered amp - klipsch-12" and from there to the Martins, - wow - doesn't do justice to the most delightfull sound I have had the opportunity of...
Summary: I am amazed. I have been a listener of music for a number of years and I never thought that I would be the owner of true hi fidelity speakers. I say this because most speakers or for that matter stereo components noted for their musical reproductive ability are also noted for their high costs. Like many of you, I had the opportunity to listen to the Martin Logans in BB.
Summary: I am an audio enthusiast with deep taste in fine music. I also play few musical instruments. I assembled my Home Theater system last year and was looking for decent Floor Standing speakers to to replace the front speakers (I had Klipsch Quintet IV at that time). I came across these speakers at Bestbuy when they were under clearance few months back. For a demo, the sales guy played a Violin performance from some British Orchestra recording. WHAT THE HELL!!
Summary: I first heard this speaker in the Best Buy Sound room. I was amazed by the sound! They were playing a blu-ray music dvd that I owned. It sounded so much better here. I spent some time in the store in other areas and continued to hear the speakers. The music was so clear, not loud but clear! You will hear music differently and better! It takes time to break them in. I initially played these speakers for hours with no change in sound. Then the world of music opened up!
Summary: Great sounding piece of gear when setup correctly. They image outside the box all the time and create an expansive soundstage. Instruments are placed beautifully on the stage and voices are tangible. I am very satisfied with these speakers and find them to be reliable under various humidity conditions so far. I have them about 4 feet out from the rear wall and about 8 feet apart with me sitting about 12 feet back.
Summary: My MartinLogan ESLs introduced a new dimension to my listening experience. Not only are they incredibly precise and accurate. They present a "sound stage" that exceeds the dimension of your listening area. My Sources "seem" to present sounds several feet past the end of the speakers! Sound is presented in a 3D space with breadth and depth far beyond the limits of the room.
Very affordable excellent entry level speaker system

Summary: I currently have a set of German Canton Plus S loudspeakers driven by a Jolida 801RC tube amplifier, I have heard a lot about electrostatic systems but never had a chance to experiment with one of these as they are costly and bulky, looking in Amazon I came across of the Martin Logan Source electrostatics, I was atracted by its design, quality and price, after doing some research I finally scratched my wallet and purchased a set of 2 speakers, they got to my house in...
Summary: The sound is awesome! Voices seem to come out of thin air. Seems like I am using a center channel when playing in 2 channel. Setting uip is tricky, but sound is worth it. The sweet spot is small so front and center will be the best seat in the house. The electrostaic panels give you that stylish uncoventional look, so if you like unique! this is the one for you.
Summary: When i first heard these in the shop, i thought. wow, what a bargain, and what a sound. After a few hours of listening i realised why they were the price they were. Way to bright with to the extent that i walked away wishing i hadnt bought them home, and with a head ache. Anyone want a pair of MLs going cheap?
