Summary: these speakers are literally amazing. the design and the options it gives you, and for the money = worth it. You'd be a fool to buy something else in the same price range. I use these speakers for my in-home studio, and the bass is awesome, no amp needed, self-powered. I can talk on and on, but I highly recommend you get them!
Summary: These are the best compact speakers ever. They have very clear and precise sounds and are flat response. They have good low end and if you want more low end you can turn on the bass boost on the back. Also it's nice that it has a voltage selector so you can use these monitors worldwide. They go pretty loud and clear. The monitors has these protections: RF interference, output current limiting, over temperature, turn on/off transient, subsonic filter.
Pros: Sound, Bass, Treble, Build, Protections
Cons: You have to open the back cover to change the fuse when they blow.
Summary: For $100, you cant beat the sound out of these Speakers. M-Audio Makes some really great stuff for audio production, and this was right up my alley for the price, and the sound. I do wish there was a better bass response, but that can be adjusted by tilting them up a few degrees. I do a lot of Dj Recording, and these handled the low end well, but I prefer beefier. I may upgrade the the AV40's for $50 more.
Pros: Great Sound and Price for M-Audio product
Cons: Not enough Low end, but that can be fixed by UPGRADING. . . .
Summary: I was looking for a pair of speakers for my 26" tv. I tried the $100 pair of Bose companion2 series2 on the tv but was'nt impressed with the lows or muddied highs when turned up too loud. (There is only one mid-range speaker, no tweeter.) I was reading the review on cnet about these Bose, when he recomended the M-Audio speakers. I had never heard of them, but after doing a google search, all I saw were good reviews on the AV-30 model.
Summary: Have a $100 budget? I do think this is as good as you can get in a powered speaker for $100.00. It is not the loudest and it does not have huge bass response (my old $29.00 Altec with sub have much more low end). I am using this speaker beside my 24" iMac and love it! This speaker shines on classical or smooth jazz and has qualities of a much more expensive speaker.
Pros: Imaging, Sound
Cons: A little shy on the low end...but it's under $100.00!
Summary: I did my research before I bought these. I went into Best Buy and listened to the other speakers I was considering (Logitech Z2300, Bose Companion2) and they both couldn't hold a candle to the clarity of these! I would highly recommend these to anyone. Even without a sub these still pack some great bass. Solid speakers (wood housings) and a great price! Thanks Best Buy!
Pros: Stellar sounds at afforadable pricing. Good bass punch as well.
Cons: Power button located in the back of left speaker.
Summary: Bought these nifty speakers on sale for $79.99 (Original $99.99) then then had $20 BB certificate. Total spent = 59.99 + tax. So I got these at a decent price. You will not be disappointed with these speakers. Great for all types of music, general gaming etc. I use these speakers for music and listening to audio books. Music sounds great with these speakers. They cover all ranges, lows, mids and highs pretty well.
Pros: Great fidelity, flat response for computer / shelf speakers at this price range
Summary: I already have a pair of AV 40's as bookshelf speakers in my shop and am very impressed with them These are smaller and better for a desktop. The sound is just as good but maybe not as powerful which is OK. I am now a huge fan of all M-Audio products and will continue to buy them.
Pros: Full sound, good base, poweful, quality construction
Summary: All I can say is “what a GREAT purchase.” After reading many reviews, I bought these Speakers over the competition. The sound is Fantastic they look good...All I can say is ….if you want great sounding speakers with a small profile - you will not regret the purchase
