Summary: Great little soundbar/soundplate. As long as it is setup right. If you set as say the ruko I have to surround and let the lg lap340 do the processing it will sound great for movies. When playing movies to get that extra punch set it to cinema sound and it will boost the bass. Also go out from the source to the lg 340 so if it is a ruko go out the roku to the lg 340. Same with cable box, box to lg 340.

Summary: Although they indicated that the SoundPlate had good bass from it's built-in sub-woofers, I found very little , if any at all. I was very disappointed in the lack of base. I didn't expect as mush as you get from external sub-woofers but I did expect a lot more then I got. I like LG products and that was my main reason for my expectations. I have since sent it back and bought a Visio sound bar with an external sub-woofer and I am very happy with it.
Summary: I went with a Vizio soundbar first, which sounded good, but I had to use two different remotes, one for TV and one for volume. So invested in this puppy and have zero regrets about it. Sounds WAY better than the stock TV (LG 50" smart), and since both are LG I'm down to one remote again. Occasionally the speaker won't turn on with the TV so I just turn the TV right back off and back on, seems to only happen after it's all been sitting for a day or two.
