Summary: I've got 4 RSX-5's and a Klipsch sub-woofer hooked up to my Pioneer Elite VSX90TXV receiver and for the price, the sound is wonderful!!! I love the attached, rotating, mini speaker stands and the non-standard shape of these speakers! I get nothing but compliments about their look and sound. So I just picked up a few more at a great price, on Ebay, to go to 7.1 channel sound. It's a month later and I've just picked up 2 more for my upstairs system!
Summary: If you don't like Klpisch horn loaded sound you won't like these speakers. Lucky for me I love that sound. Love about them I love that they are Klipsch Reference Series Speakers. They do sound better than the Synergy series, which is to be expected. According to the Klipsch specs the RSX-5 have a lower upper frequency than the Klipsch B-2 20K as opposed to 23K for the B-2. In my direct side by side comparison the RSX-5 has much crisper highs than the B-2.
Summary: I currently have these speakers as my surround speakers. I have the crossover set at 100 hertz which is generally the recommended crossover point for these speakers. I have a Klipsch SUB-12 to fill in below 100 hertz. These are very solid speakers. The build quality is very good, they may look like plastic computer speakers in the pictures you see of them on line, but they are NOT light weight or flimsy in any way.
