Klipsch RF-82

The Klipsch RF-82 from the manufacturer’s highly regarded Reference Series is a pair of high performance floor-standing hi-fi speakers. This pair of speakers has a stylish design and utilizes high quality components and proprietary technologies (Tractrix Horns and Cerametallic materials) designed to enhance the quality of sound reproduction.

The floor-standing speakers are available in a vinyl woodgrain finish with black ash and cherry wood as color scheme choices. Each speaker measures 9.5 x 43.6 x 16.3 inches (W x H x D) and together weigh approximately 66 pounds. The 2-way, passive speakers come with a detachable speaker grille that connects via magnets. The grilles have been designed to be low-diffraction to minimize interference.

The twin rear-firing port enclosure is structurally rigid with better cross-bracing to keep unwanted vibrations at a minimum. The rear-firing ports, meanwhile, serve to get rid of unnecessary noise caused by turbulence. To help with the efficiency and the quality of sound reproduction, the RF-82 uses high caliber components for the crossover while the internal wiring is custom installed by Klipsch.

The Klipsch RF-82 utilizes 1 inch high frequency dome compression drivers made of titanium. These high quality tweeters are partnered with Klipsch’s Tractrix Horns (measuring 90 x 60 square) as well as large ceramic motor structures for improved sound precision and detail.

For bass reproduction, the RF-82 utilizes twin 8 inch Cerametallic cone woofers as well as copper dust caps. These technologies and materials help the system provide tight and life-like bass.
