Summary: The Klipsch center channel is a great addition to my home theater setup. Based on reviews and recommendations for surround sound systems, I elected to match the center channel speaker to my Klipsch Reference series front left / right speakers. I am pleased with the balance and sound reproduction similarities the "matched set" produces.
Summary: Wonderful sound. I'm considering repacing the rest of my speakers with Klipsch. Replaced an Infinity center channel that was 18 years old but It still had wonderful highs - the horn on this speaker is Very crisp and clear. It has resulted in my reducing setting for the system by 10 db for normal TV veiwing due to the clarity it gives the voices.
Summary: I was a bit skeptical whether this small center could keep up with my Classic Klipsch Heresy's but my cabinet was limited in space and would not accommodate the larger RC52ii. The RC42ii did not disappoint and added the center fill that was lacking between my Heresy's. The timber was very close to my Heresy's so it blended seamlessly.
Pros: Attractive Design, Easy To Set Up, Great Sound Quality
Summary: I own an Onkyo 5.1 surround sound receiver and the accompanying Onkyo speakers. It is a quality receiver that I have had for a decade. However, I was having difficulties hearing the dialog in many of the action type movies with a lot of background sounds. I decided to try upgrading my center channel speaker to the Klipsch Reference Series RC-42 II to see if that would help. It did and I am very pleased with the outcome.
Pros: Attractive Design, Good Power Output, Great Sound Quality
Summary: I was originally going to order the 52 II but then I thought, "I'm chiefly using this for movies." So I went with the 42 II with the thought that I can always exchange it for the 52 II if I was not happy. I built a home theater room with an Epson 3020, Elite 92 inch screen, Denon 1909 (this receiver is powerful) and this Center Channel 42 II with some old Sony speakers and coupled with a powerful Polk PW-505 Sub-woofer.
