impressive set of speakers for the price. Would highly recommend

Summary: I purchased these speakers to replace my Bose acoustimass double cube & acoustimass sub woofer speakers. That I was not at all impressed with. They sound so much better than the Bose speakers. i paid $175.00 for these speakers not including the sub woofer. I am able to connect these speakers directly to the receiver. No need to connect them to the sub woofer first.
Summary: I was putting together a budget system. I heard these in a local Best Buy and played around with them for a bit and was fairly impressed. I did an online search where I found these on Amazon for roughly HALF the price as the local Best Buy wanted for them so I snagged these up right away. I've been using them for a little under a year now with my current system and have had zero problems. Very satisfied with these.
Summary: I made this purchase about a year ago when I was putting together my new home theater. It thought it would be the perfect addition and for the price I couldn't afford to pass them up. I waited this long to write a review because I wanted to make sure there would be no future problems. I haven't had any problems at all. The sound is full and loud. I have friends that have spent thousands on similar BOSE systems.
Summary: I chose these speakers after comparing them with other sets and the cost/benefit factor. These were chosen because of the many good reviews by other purchasers, and they fit within my budget. They were a good choice as they sound great. I connected them to an ONKYO TX-SR608 R Receiver. Also connected is a wall shaking JBL SUB12 powered subwoofer.
Summary: Great set of speakers. Mounted them to the walls. Make sure you loosen the screws before you adjust the feet. If you don't loosen them you will strip the screws and the speakers will sag under their own weight. I had to put super glue on them to keep them up and havent had an issue since.
Summary: I was brand spankin' new to surround sound when I bought these for $200 in Nov 2009 (Xmas sale. If you see these for sale $300 or below, snag em). I haven't figured out how to get surround sound from cds yet (my fault, haven't made time to do it) but so far this thing rocks for movies. The highest I've cranked them is 1/3 of how high the volume goes and that's plenty.
Summary: I usually know what I want. I do all the research, read the reviews compare the specs 9just like you are doing) and I buy the best in my price range. Speakers oh wow what a pain. Should I buy a set or individually, should i buy a HTIB or seperate componets. I was going crazy. I knew I wanted the Onkyo 607 (love it) but the speakers I was not sure, I was interested in the Energy Takes and the Mirages. I plan on using the speakers for mainly movies and a little music.
